■ A comprehensive V I N/ History Report would almost always reveal such severe damage, if the accident happened before the car was shipped to Nigeria.

If the report shows such damage there may be no need for the second step:

■ Thorough physical inspection would reveal the damage and repair signs, whether the accident happened before it was shipped, or after it was already imported.

that particular Benz could amount to 3million or more as clearance fee while the dismantles one will have like 4 or 5 in a container and they would pay 1million. that's 200k per each vehicle grin for customs add cheap cost of labour to it and special plates so no custom officer will stop the vehicle you have a smart evasion of custom fees grin

I kinda give up on the comments I just read. That said, only very few car dealers and their accomplices would make heaven considering all what they are doing to people! !!

a comprehensive report or any report is useless in this type of situation because the cars has clean title when it's bought,the only aim of dismantling that cars like Christmas goat is to maximize profits,they will use the clearing cost of one car to clear 8-9 more and make more money,if the cars history is searched it will show what happened last in us Carfax report but will not report what happened behind the scene in the junkyards and salvage yards.

actually carguide is on point, OP did not specify what happened to the car, it is very very possible that the car was badly accidented with salvaged titled and then naija dealer bought it from auction and imported it chopped up, so both the point number and 1 and number 2 are still in order

This very much possible but unreliable. I know a mechanic in my street, his customer had a frame and rust issues on his Rav4. Then opted to swap all body parts of his car to a new body of another Rav4 which I dunno how he was able to get it.

The mechanic transfered all parts, engine, glass, chair, dashboard to the new body.
