He did not fail at the polls, he actually failed and lost because he didn't do thorough feasibility study before throwing his hat in the ring.

He and his folks like Fela, Sowore, Tope, Madam Oby are the greatest disappointment. Why not decide on one person. Nigerian youths saw them as mere opportunists.

1. He didn't know Nigerians' psychology.
2. He didn't address the mentality of Nigerians.
3. He is too new to be trusted with the highest office in the land.
4. An average youth didn't see him as a part of us, but an opportunist.
5. No wonder Senator-elect Ubah had more votes than the presidential candidate. Hmm!

Even if they decide, they had no chance. It's true. Nigeria youths are the biggest disappointment. They are still and will always be in love with their oppressors.
1) What's Nigeria psychology except poverty, inequality and crime?
2)And Buhari addresses this your mentality?
3) He is new? Yes. But what's the definition of doing same thing with old guys and expecting different results
4) And Atiku, Buhari are part of us? We did not shake the table of the old guards
5) My post is not about Moghalu specifically but in the last election, I wanted Nigerians to scare the old politicians. I wanted us to send a message of hope for the new guys. I was thinking Sowore or any other guy can have 500k to 1m votes. With that it will be an encouragement that they can achieve something special by 2027. But Alas, It was a tragedy. The corrupt guys will continue to rule us. I finally lost hope in Nigeria project

Thank you for honestly speaking my mind. He lost woefully, rather than take stock and review what he should have done better, he’s embarrassing and making things worse for himself and his party. Oga b there speaking more grammar, your party’s only senator is about to defect. Let’s also chalk that up to “the Nigerian youth’s” fault when it happens.

Kingsley u were a great candidate u seem to have the right solutions from ur speeches bt u just don’t understand politics. Politics is beyond grammar, intelligence and just money. it’s hardwork, timing, strategy, structures and capacity.

If he studied political science or got advice from a formal/informal student of politics he wud understand better. The youths have no blame here. They only made the necessary call.
In a saner clime, he would have won. He was one of the best and really seem to have solutions unlike the douchebags who are roaming the country like Colossus.
U mentioned it in your first paragraph that he was actually the best man for the job. Our youths have been pummeled and grossly impoverished that they can't make informed decisions. Smh.
Moghalu was right

I kinda agree with the gentleman. All that not too young to run hullabaloo was a pile of utter nonsense. Nigerian youths aren't ready to break from the old tradition where money counts for just about everything, including who become our leaders.

Such a bunch of jokers.

Yes he probably wud bt still needs to work and build a movement or structure be it online or offline. Also having to many independent candidates/parties didn’t help matters.

If u want to rule any country u need to study it’s political terrains not come to Nigeria and campaign like u in France or America. Even in America they toured states and Obama did a lot of political studies ahead of his campaigns, trump had a master stroke strategy that worked for him.

What did moghalu and the other bunch have?

Nigerian youths... mbanu... ko joo.. baaa.. they are the most docile, untrustworthy set of people around in this decade... many issues that call for attention, you will see Nigerian youths hiding under there keypads on twitter, instagram and facebook ranting and saying all sort.. the only active place you will see them are BB naija auditions, bars, hotels and viewing centres.. I wont blame them.. but a time will. come when all these frivolities won't give would be staled and there children will ask questions and will demand answers.. also the day of battle is postponed till who knows... this same decade,we saw the Arab spring in Egypt, Tunisia, recently Algeria also.. and few days ago.. Sudan.. where a 22 years old girl led the mass protests... until the whole country turns upside down then we shall hVe youths ready.. but I doubt that happening soon

Baba and atiku know politics, hv structure and strategy more than moghalu by far. Those 2 already have party structure leverage, money to Mobilize, they know how to politically engage their target base and people. My uncle studied political science and I had privilege of watching him do sm active politics and campaign strategy educational meetings back then for sm politicians and it was not beans. They are students of history and politics and know the terrains to follow.
We can see where the strategy has led to. We can feel the effects. Thats why you people are doomed to suffer for another 4 years or more. Continue

Look bro I don’t like both bt that’s the reality. Moghalu and the rest didn’t position themselves to make enough impact or win. Even God expects u to be smart when u work.

Macron didn’t win by just luck he looked at his chances and played the right cards. Nobody will dash u power.

Bimpeusman:
The presidential candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Professor Kingsley Moghalu, has taken a swipe at Nigerian youths for the role they played during the recently held general elections.

“The biggest disappointment was with the youths. The youth vote was absent. They make a lot of noise, they rant and rail but you will not see them on the voting day. And when they vote, they don’t vote in line with their rhetoric,” he said.

When asked if the polls witnessed improvement when compared to 2015, Moghalu noted that chaos marred some polling centres coupled with an alleged organisational efficiency and effectiveness shortly before the commencement of voting.

“The organisational efficiency and effectiveness of the election was generally weak. We saw it. First, it was postponed at the last minute and in many parts of the country, there was chaos at the polling booths especially in rural areas.”

Reacting to President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory at the polls, he advised the current administration to justify the votes and work hard to restore Nigerians have reposed on the President.

In doing that, he wants the Federal Government to focus on three cores areas bordering on national unity, building a vibrant economy and the nation’s security.

He decried the poor funding of the police, calling on the government to properly equip its personnel with the modern tools to properly secure lives and properties.

Moghalu, who is also an economist and former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) however wants the complete removal of subsidy.

He also wants the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to be privatised because it “is not a very profitable corporation, it is not a transparent corporation.”

Asked if he would still throw in the hat for the 2023 presidential race, his response was “it’s too early to make that kind of decision.”

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the YPP candidate wants the presidency to be zoned to the south-east.

https://all-gists..com/2019/04/Nigerian-Youths-Are-The-Biggest-Disappointment-Kingsley-Moghalu.html?m=1

Lol.... He wants presidency to be zoned to the East.
My question is which party will zone presidency to the East?

Is it APC that they have so much demonized to the extent that any of their politician that decamp to APC is automatically a leper to the Igbos?

Or PDP they have served in slave capacity since 1999??

It seems politics is alien to these people after all.

Kingsley Moghalu must have thought himself a Macron in France who start his own party, speak a lot of grammar, make noise on social media and boom, win the presidency.

People you think are intelligent enough to understand the dynamics of the country's politics will just be falling hand and spilling gibberish.

Kingsley should have ran for Senate or governorship, show what he can do at local level, use it to introduce himself to the nation, and then make a case for the presidency.

This is not a rocket science bikonu.

Assuming him & sowere contests for Senate or reps them are guaranteed to win, most especially d sahara reporters loud mouth

If you have not contested for any position in Nigeria you will never know the masses are the problem of this country. Even your village people will ask you to share money to them the way other parties are sharing before they vote for you. Any sincere serious person will not be happy sharing money to the youths or the masses.

It is sad when people can't communicate without insult! This is an online forum, 90% of commentaries are laced with derogatory language. So sad for us.

The youth and the people will vote for whom they know and believe in, Ubah won senatorial ticket as he has been identifying with the youth over time, thru sports.

Yes yes, Moghalu is qualified, but how did the people, nay youth, feel his impact when he was in CBN, UN, etc., Politics is local, you need to sell yourself to the people (Seyi Making in Oyo State did it excellently pouncing on the mistake of incumbent govt).

How many LGA did Moghalu visit prior to the elections.

Has the youth and people seen him do anything for them or speak out before now. Do the people truly know him.

Obama rose thru the ranks before presidency, learning the ropes sort of, building trust amidst political elites and electorates.

Moghalu couldn't have won governorship, Senate or even HoR in 2019. He should start working now for the youth and people to take him more seriously.

If you like do everything for the youths and during election in Nigeria you fail to buy vote, electoral officers and the security you won't win. If you are close to those people you mentioned ask them they will tell you better. 90% of the masses are the problem of this country not even the leaders cos you may have a genuine mindset but peoples behavior will change all your good plans.
