A 36-year-old lady identified as Stella Gilbert, collapsed, today, after Justice Raliat Adebiyi sentenced her to death for stabbing her neighbor, Stella Godwin, to death during a fracas in Ajegunle.

She was found guilty on one count charge of murder brought against her by the Lagos State government. Gilbert had stabbed Godwin, a mother-of-three, to death with a knife, during an argument on June 22, 2013

Learnt that the owner of the bench parked out and left the bench and it became an argument between the two lady over who the owner left the bench for, and then she went in and brought a knife.

Both are male names and the stabber as seen is a female name while the stabee ( mother of 3) is also a male as I have not seen a male Godwin.

The sentence is too harsh. Life sentence would have been appropriate. No judge should have the power to sentence to death. That's the same as having power to kill. All men are sinners, so no one should have power to condemn to death. Only GOD can kill. He sure did'nt ask us to kill her for HIM. If he wants her dead he can surely do it himself. Life sentence is ok. hmm We are still in barbaric days.
