PDP cannot win this case upto the Supreme court no matter the judges that sit in the panels. Atiku will steal away our prosperity if he succeeds in stealing our presidency. Atiku is bad for Nigeria. He will never be our president

It may sound unseemly for the wife of an APC candidate and senator elect to be presiding over a PDP APC case.

The call for recusal makes sense

What about Mary Odili in the case of Wike 2015 when he lost all but Supreme Court judgement.

PDP like crying wolf

I think not. There is nothing personal about the office of a Senator and party man that calls for a recusal in this matter. It would be a different matter if her husband were The President. It must be borne in mind that she is not the only member of the panel and it would be preposterous to suggest she dictates to other members of the Panel.

How did we get to this point how every position of leadership in nigeria is been occupied by northern's, what happens to one nigerian mantra, is it that southerners are no longer good enough to occupy positions of leadership.?

I fully support the PDP over this step. Looking at the trend of the pre-election cases that arose from the shambolic and disastrous "primaries" of the APC, the Appeal Court tried to give soft landing to the party in most cases where they ought not to have participated in the election, cases that are self-inflicted injuries by the APC including the Rivers case.
Thank God for the Supreme Court which ensures Democracy is always protected. Another show of bias was the Osun Election which the Appeal Court gave the APC yesterday. The hope is now in the Supreme Court to do justice and set aside the bias Appeal Court judgment as usual.

DOA. Atiku is just wasting his time. Buhari defeated him emphatically

If there was't a conflict of interest when Mary Odili sat among the Supreme Court panelist as a former rivers state PDP first lady in delivering judgement on several APC vs PDP case then its quite hypocritical to ask the President of the Appeal Court of Nigeria, a career judge of many years to step aside for childish frivolities of PDP, besides she is judging based on nigeria's Constituition
I hope you dont mind naming just one of this "several" APC-PDP cases Justice Mary Odili adjudicated upon?

That question ought properly to be directed at you! Get educated on the matter by reading up on the Judgment and you’ll see my point. It’s your right to disagree though but not abusively.

PDP keep on showing their ignorance and desperation day in day out. The Appeal Court panel comprises of 5 justices, including the President of the Court of Appeal. She might not even get to deliver her own judgement in the case. once a majority verdict has been made, her influence is no longer there. only when there is a tie, that is when her judgement will be heard, a possibility that is Highly unusual.

Please mention just one case involving the PDP where Mary Odili sat on, let alone chaired.

For the records, Justice Mary Odili excused herself from any case involving the PDP not even APC V PDP. ANY CASE involving PDP as it is inline with the global best practices of natural justice to avoid conflict of interest.

PS: please google the meaning of Conflict of Interest, because it seems you have no idea what it means.

the Nigeria law is not coherent ambiguous and one sided loop holed intensional by our law makers. That is why we see court of thesame jurisdiction giving conflicting judgement. I wonder why court cases will have to pass through 3court stages, do the judges operate on dif constitution to be giving dif rulling at dif stages

Good. I have been wondering why PDP has not called for this APC member to step aside for a non partisan Judge. A Judge whose husband is an APC Senator-elect being appointed to head a Presidential tribunal involving PDP and APC?
That Sharia Judge Tanko Mohammed that made the appointment should be ashamed of himself. He should also recuse himself when the case gets to the Supreme Court.

So what about Justice Mary Odili, who has been a Justice of the Supreme court all these while?? Incase you don't know who she is, she is Peter Odili's wife. A former Governor and founding member of PDP. You did not hear APC shouting about that all these years. Eberechi Suzzette Wike is a judge of the Rivers State High Court of Justice. She is married to current Governor Ezenwo Wike and is the First Lady of Rivers State since 29 May 2015!!! SMH

In case you don't know how the Supreme Court of Nigeria sits on any matter before it, let me educate you. The Supreme Court usually comprises of 5 Judges who deliver judgment on any matter brought before them and no single one of them decides any matter single-handedly, not even the CJN. The Judge PDP is requesting her stepping aside is the President of the Court of Appeal and wife of an APC senator-elect. In case you don't know her functions; she selects judges to sit on any matter brought before the Court of Appeal! In the case of the Presidential Election Petition, according to PDP, she has appointed herself as the chairman of the Appeal Court panel of the judges to hear the case should it get to Appeal Court.
