Lol. What happened to the C230K being the best damn car in the world?
I got richer.
Besides I don't think I've ever been in that school of thought that said the C230k is the best car in the world.
It has served me no doubt(since 2014) and is a very good car,but at this point I need something more befitting cool

Naanshepnick:
Hello house
I need assistance on how to go about these cause I'm just trying to b careful.
I bought a C240 2005 and is showing service A exceeded by 330 days even though the service has been carried out I don't know how to reset the message.its also showing SRS restraints system malfunction drive to a workshop and the ABS indication is always on when driving even though the car brake is working fine.

Pls any body with such experience should guide me on how to go about clearing all those indications.
The car is moving fine.
I assume you just bought the car as tokunbo.
Like we have people here who don't care much about maintenance that's how they have them abroad too.
The previous owner of your vehicle falls in this category.

I don't see much issues with Ur car if you are ready to do the right things.
You should start with the ABS system cos it's more important..... check speed sensors (all 4)

For SRS you need to visit an experienced Benz mechanic to scan the vehicle.
If u can't find a good Benz mechanic in Ondo you can drive to Lagos to get someone.
The service A warning is not a problem, you just need to reset it ...

Go to a Mercedes Benz mechanic not an auto shop.
Ask drivers who own the same vehicle to direct you.

Your car in it's current state is not safe.
Avoid high speeds,
Avoid James bonding,
Don't race anyone,
Finally, don't get involved in any type of accident grin grin grin
#staysafe
Good luck.

Great post , I must say! What is your take on automatic or manual compressors if you want to change ! I am a bit confused here...some guy said that the manual compressors are good because my car is a V6 (320) but what's your take but it seems that the car came with automatic compressor!

Your advise would be appreciated sir
It's always good to have the automatic compressor.
Just like many things in life it has its ups n downs.
The pros:
The automatic compressor cools better than the manual.
You dont need to introduce sensors, hangers or pay extra labour for electrician.
The cons:
You can't repair; once it gets faulty you will have to replace.
It doesn't tolerate any form of abuse....low quality gas can make it to park up.
It has a mind of it's own....it can decide when to engage or not grin grin grin

The manual on the other hand is more rugged...it can tolerate any form of abuse...it will engage even without gas in the system. shocked

You can disassemble it,repair or change faulty parts inside.
The manual is cheaper.
Cons.
You will need to introduce sensors, switches e.t.c
You will pay extra for electrician.
You will have to bypass ECU to get it to work.

There you have it....the choice is now yours to make.

Good luck.

hard to get good and sincere mech . I want to know which clutch fibre to buy for the reverse so to cut down cost, the car select well but only reverse gear jerk when it engage, I want to replace only the reverse cluch fibre.
I'm confused if it is K1 or B1 or B3 clutch that is used for reverse so I buy for mech to change for me

Bros you will still buy oil for new gear and pay labor, it has been proven not to be the better option time and again.

W212 is typically solid. W204 facelift is ok, too.

Hi, Mercedes Benz owners and specialists...
I got a 2010 c300.(w204)..vehicle was containerized and the auction site regarded it as 'run and drive'...even tho, a search on the Vin history showed 'engine damage(water)'. After getting the car outta the container, the tagged 'run and drive' vehicle refused to start. I had to have it towed to a mechanic's workshop. Now, the mechanic says it's best I change the engine..
I'd love to know how much the engine costs...both the full engine and the one without the alternator, kick starter, injector nozzles etc. i.e Borale. Thanks.
