The spate of flagrant corruption has obviously gown down since President Buhari came to power, thanks to the relentless roaring of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other anti-graft agencies. But while public officials now think twice before looting, the grey areas of institutional and undercover theft of public funds are still very much active. Agencies of government now hide under budgets, projects and contracts to steal public funds by inflating costs to unreasonable levels. To drive this home, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) left the whole nation appalled when it recently said it budgeted ₦160 million for sewing of uniforms for its drivers.
