I am a christian bt may not be very spiritual. I decided to raise dis topic, hopin i wil get reasonable response.
I drink alcohol once in a blue moon but dont smoke.
I remember in my former church in sunday school class, d pastor said dt its a sin to drink alcohol (agreed) nd to also smoke. Christians shud not sell alcohol/tobacco. He also said dt as a christian, it is also WRONG for u to work in companies dat produce alcohol/tobacco.
My Question:
1. As a christian, is it actually wrong to work in tobacco/alcohol coys?
2. I know there're bible backins against alcohol, is there any against smokin? If yes pls i need d bible reference.

The first miracle of Christ was turning water into wine. Bible does not encourage drunkenness but I don't think that God forbids alcohol. The tobacco industry has provided employment and livelihood for millions directly and indirectly. Tobacco has killed so many as well.

To your question, it is a matter of principle. Taxes, including VAT from tobacco and alcohol have provided revenue which government  has used to build roads that your pastor drives on. I don't know if he rejects tithes from employees of these industries and those who run hotels where such are sold.

Note: I drink but I don't smoke. I also find smokers friendlier.

Christianity is fairly free. Why do you find a need for straitjackets? Are you a Deeper Lifer?
