Nigerian Osayemi Oludamola was stripped of the women's 100 metres Commonwealth Games gold medal on Tuesday after her B sample confirmed a positive test for a banned stimulant, the Games Federation said.

Compatriot Samuel Okon, who also tested positive for methylhexaneamine, waived his right to have his B Sample tested and has also been disqualified from the Games and his 110m hurdles result nullified, a statement said.

Really? so what explains the case of canadian and U S athletes who can boast of the best form of leadership but are countlessly being found wanting as drug cheats?

Commonwealth Games Federation President Mike Fennell on Tuesday announced that Nigerian sprinter Samuel Okon, who finished sixth in the 110m hurdles final, has been tested positive for the banned stimulant methylhexanamine.

"On anti-doping, we have now conducted 1,200 tests and again I regret to inform you that a second athlete has tested positive. It is Nigerian 110m hurdler Samuel Okon, who tested positive for the same substance (as Oludamola)," said Fennel.

Okon is the second athlete from the African nation to return a positive test. Nigeria's women's 100m gold medal winner Osayemi Oludamola had also tested positive on Monday for the same substance.

"We have already had discussions with the leadership of the Nigerian team, who are themselves taking it very seriously. They are very concerned about it," he added.

Fennell further said a provisional hearing into the matter would be held later on Tuesday. (ANI)

Something suspicious is going on.

Maybe they ate some of those bagels before the game.

You crack my ribs.

For one American drug cheat caught, you must have been counting like 20 old medals. Nigeria less than 9 old gold medals and 2 drug cheats already? The fellowers are learning very last fast here.
