Halitosis exceeds brushing twice a day and flossing. In fact, these are temporary solutions to the best of my knowledge. Tell your friend to visit the nearest ENT department (Ear, Nose and Throat) as most of these odour come from within due to digestive system not functioning properly. He might be tested and placed on some medications. Certain conditions need minor surgery. However, it's not limited to the above as some debris are left on the tongue unwashed. Tell your friend to get a tongue scraper to clean his tongue after brushing. This is always the primary cause of halitosis. In cases where the person has tried cleaning the tongue with no improvement, the first advice is always given.
