What Do You Think China's Interest Is In African Science by Johnpotter660: 3:48pm On Aug 08, 2019
It is true that science and technology are the principal vehicles upon which major economies of the world thrive. From Russia to China , the UK and America, science has proven to be an engine capable to driving revenue growth and improved living standards. African science has been undergoing a steady growth from advances in telecommunications to agriculture and space science. But there is no doubt a huge vacuum to be filled in the quality, depth, and volume of research outputs from the continent. As at 2015, Africa produced less than 2% of global scientific research products; a red flag on matters of science, technology, and innovation. A lot of pioneering efforts to improve the status quo have been emerging from indigenous Africans, as well as immense support from the World Bank and other countries.

There has been supports and interventions from countries like China, France, and the US. But in recent times, China has been a major pillar of funding among the rest, including the U.S.
