Tribunal: Yahaya Bello Congratulates Buhari, Urges Atiku To Accept Verdict by 9jaBlogger: 9:13pm On Sep 11, 2019 |
Kogi State Governor, Mr Yahaya Bello, has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on his victory at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT), Igbere TV reports. Igbere TV had reported that the Tribunal, Wednesday, upheld Buhari’s re-election, striking out all petitions brought against him by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar. In a statement obtained by Igbere TV, Bello hailed the Tribunal’s verdict, urging the PDP and Atiku to “accept the outcome in good faith” and “join hands with the President to move the nation forward.” The governor, who is currently seeking re-election on the platform of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), also wished the President a successful second term. He said the Tribunal’s judgement “has demonstrated again that the judiciary remains unimpressed by gimmickry and unfair media opinions planted by litigants.” “The Judiciary”, he affirmed, “has again proved itself strong in the protection of democracy and the rule of law in Nigeria”. He said he had never entertained any iota of doubt about today’s outcome “because it was clear that Nigerians voted overwhelmingly to re-elect the President.” He described President Muhammadu Buhari as a “man of the people” and “a peace-loving statesman.” Governor Bello said that “the decision of the Tribunal will definitely go a long way to solidify the faith of the masses in the courts”, and felicitated with the APC and Nigerians at home and in the diaspora. http://igberetvnews.com/980219/tribunal-yahaya-bello-congratulates-buhari-urges-atiku-to-accept-verdict/ 1 Like 1 Share

Atiku should accept the verdict. The Supreme Court is being run by Buhari's boy, Tanko; he will lose there, as well. Those that are shouting "Cummin" anyhow should remember that Atiku is a billionaire — just as rich as Buhari. The same way Secondus hugged Ohsiomole in court today is the same way Atiku will hug Buhari if he comes to Nigeria. They don't have a problem. Its the one shouting anyone here on NL that are suffering and smiling. 9 Likes |

Seems like the most sensible thing to do right now.. Going to the supreme court is like going to buhari and asking him to rule against himself for you.. He is the commander in chief of not just the armed forces but also the legislature and judiciary.. A complete travesty of democracy.. 5 Likes 1 Share |

This is just sickening. Nigeria politics is a joke. The masses are to be blamed. If you see the way people sell their votes for #500, you'll weep for our future Some will come to either support Buhari or Atiku. Well I say F....them. I think we deserve better. Not these old men. If we leave them there, then there's no future for the youths. The level of impunity is amazing, imagine graduating the best ever in your department and you can't get employment offer in the same Federal institution because you don't know anyone. It's disheartening. 2 Likes |
