Well they say experience is a best teacher. i replaced radiator with double cell. lil did i know that the bastard mechanic did not put in the brand new bosch sensor inside the radiator cos i was showing panel beater something to do and that was what caused me to leave and come back later. so it kept reading coolant temp high when we scanned. well i had to get a tokunbo and made sure i saw them insert it in. not oga come back later around 5pm to pick it up lies. and gbam my check engine light went off. However 2days later,it came back on with another code saying 02sensor low vot. so i am waiting for my mechanic to come and put the follow come own that i kept since the brand new one i got from amazon suddenly burst out a new code. because before then i never had catalyst and fabricated catalsyst said below threshold . i was just wasting fuel. I am praying that the original 02 sensor should read no code and engine light turns off. basically i had no sensor in radiator, fabricated catalyst, and fans corrected directly..
so just picture how much i blow on fuel with ac on and moderate speed almost everyday. the day everything will be corrected,it will take me a week to adapt cos this honda dey drink fuel like v8
TRYGO:
The sensor might not be OK.
Few questions for you here.
1. Is your radiator cooling fan connected directly to the ignition system?

2. Is the engine coolant thermostat still in the car, or it has being removed?

3. Replacing that sensor, may not be the problem.

4. Run this test:
a. Unplugged the connector in that sensor, and read for trouble codes.
What code are you getting as regards the ect?
Same high or low blabla?

b. if the sensor is bad or OK, it should give you same results with the former sensor(high), when disconnected.

5. The ect wiring circuits, straight up from the sensor itself, down to the ECU maybe faulty ( a short or an open circuit there).

6. Did you read the freeze frame data on your scan tool, to lookvat the ECT temperature? Is it in the -40°C, or in the above that range?

7. Interpreting those would helped you troubleshoot this problem.

Hope this helps you more!

turns out the rewire misplaced the bosch sensor i newly bought and gave to him, only to return back later and took the car months later. same radiator was removed. low and behold. the circuit wire was left open and no sensor inside at all. bastard liars everywhere. when would nigerian rewire and mechanics be at least trustworthy.
thebigkendo:

This you issue is a very simple something.. But you are dealing with either an incompetent rewire or fraudulent one..

P2185 Has nothing to do with fuel consumption..

Where do you stay?
ECT Sensor 2 is the coolant sensor under the radiator, was that what that the rewire changed?

3 possibilities
-Your rewire bought a bad or wrong sensor
-Cable/Connection problem
-Rewire replaced the wrong sensor grin
