How come the big oil vessels are able to access the port?

There are different categories of vessels

Not all can't come to the east some transload their cargoes onto small vessels that have the capacity to access those waterways difficult for larger vessels

This is a fat lie, and one of the misinformation used to stunt the patronage of all ports from Warri to Calabar (Warri, Koko, Port Harcourt, Ibaka Deep Sea Port, Onitsha, Calabar, etc)

Can you back up this false claims with technical facts? The NPA Managing Director claims the channels are too shallow because of silting. She forgot that one of the primary responsibilities of a ports manager, is to regularly sweep port access channels to ensure enough draught for ships.

Regular sweeping and dredging is done for Apapa port to keep the channel open. Why is it not done for other ports in the South South and Eastern flank of Nigeria?

God is watching all of you with all the lies you use to keep this country down for the benefit of a few

Apapa is a seaport not river channel

95 what?
SS is not SE.

Is there crude oil in Enugu?
Is there crude oil in Ebonyi?
Is there crude oil in Imo state?

Even Abia are Anambra don't have enough (that is if they even have)

It's time the igbos realize SS is not part of South east.

See this Almajiri that only contributes violence & bloodshed to Nigeria.

Please tell us what the core North gives Nigerians apart from Boko Haram, Fulani Herdsmen & Kidnappings?

You are the problem to us in the South.

Hope you're not integrating south South too as part of the East?

South South or East,May be you have mistaken SS for SE,and even not up to 95% you claimed from SS.

If the waterway is narrow then let the government make it wide by dredgingit, that is why we have a government.

Secondly, government should not have excuses in providing security. After all, they know how to send operation python dance to kill people, why not send the same python to secure the waterway and the ports.

Your people have not finished using ONNE port. Until dredging of other ports is done, why can't you use ONNE port?

Interpretation of what she said is -

1 - MEND and IPOB scare business away from East.

2 - Cargo ships and Insurance companies minimize risks faced at harbour.

If a cargo ship gets stranded in shallow waters it can take up to 3months or longer to rescue it to safety. The cost is monumental. No need to even risk it.
Don't mind them. ONNE port is available and very functional. It is the 2nd highest revenue generating port, after Lagos port.

But they won't use it, because the destiny of their importers is tied to Lagos. sad

The only thing the North excels in are Fulani Herdsmen & Boko Haram

If you were properly informed, you should have asked why Ibaka & Ibeno natural harbors have not yet being converted into international deep seaports.

Why not blame eastern importers for not using eastern ports, why blaming the NPA as usual? Have you heard at any time that any ship was turned back from going to any eastern port and forced to offload in Lagos?
I don't understand this writer up joor, take ur ship tru eastern route simple. I also think Jonathan ruled for over six years.

When the white man sited the ports in Lagos and ph to move slaves how come they didn't experience all these?
If it's insecurity then what exactly are the naval forces doing in the Baracks instead of patrolling the water ways? When it's time to move oil from those same ports to abroad there are no problems but to bring them back refined to the same ports you sight insecurity and rather move everything to Lagos, having us moving back refined oil through tankers. Nigeria i hail thee. Very wicked and useless country. Sabotaging the economy of your fellow countrymen just because you hate them.

I can't stop laughing at what you wrote here.

1) The ships used during the colonial era not as big as these modern day ocean liners.

Besides that, the shipping companies are more motivated by profits than any other things. Big Ocean liners that can take 3 times the goods being taken by their 1960s precursors are the kinds of ships been used by the shipping companies in the 21st century.

2) crude oil are not exported through these ports. The oil companies have oil rigs far into the ocean, from where crude oil are pumped into special ships. These ships don't need to come to the shores where the ports are located.

Ibaka Deepsea 'Port' is a white elephant project through which State Governments of Akwa Ibom siphon their State's money. It's a think Forest with some concrete pavements beside the Atlantic ocean, nothing more.

It's similar to the MKO Abiola International Airport at Ido-Osun which Ex-Gov Aregbesola used to siphoned the money of Osun State.

The Port Harcourt Monorail by Amaechi is another example of Similar white elephant projects.
