A suspected serial killer, Gracious David West, has been arraigned before a Rivers High Court in Port Harcourt by the Rivers State Police Command.

The suspect who is alleged to have murdered over seventeen (17) ladies in different hotels across the nation was charged with ten count charges of murder and attempted murder.

During the court proceeding, the suspect Gracious West did not have a lawyer to defend him in court.
The trial Judge, Justice Adolphus Enebeli, based on the expedition of the matter, adjourned to 22nd October 2019, for the suspect to get a lawyer that will represent him in the case.

Justice Enebeli stressed further that if the serial killer suspect is unable to procure a lawyer before tomorrow, 22nd, October, the court will have no choice but to provide him with a lawyer.

When asked why the suspect has been unable to get a lawyer before now, OC Legal and Prosecution Rivers Police Command, SP Gladys Imegu, told reporters that it is not the duty of the police to provide the suspect with a lawyer.

She said they have filed their charge and the suspect has been properly served.

Getting a legal representative these days should not be an issue.
He could randomly hire any of those charge-and-bail lawyers littered all over, or he should get one of the quack lawyers; because no matter what, he would eventually be given a capital punishment .


To make it easier on himself, he should just tell one of the security officers beside him, to shoot him in the head right away.
That way, he won't have to bother about getting a lawyer or wasting his time in the dock anymore.

Who is the sane lawyer that will defend him or applead for him, when he has confessed of his crime...i think the law court should take a strait proceedings without debate or negotiation...if there is no law like this, it should be inacted in our persecutory constitution.

Its hard defending a self confessed serial killer as a lawyer, what are you going to do, is it to prove his innocence when he has already squalled in public in front of press without being put under duress, giving vivid details calling out names of hotels he has carried out his strange behaviour and the large number of women he has murdered.
