From one underwhelming performance to the next, this describes Arsenal who have become more of an emotional burden to their fans than a source of excitement and entertainment.

Unai Emery's side were once again appalling, failing to show any form of character, determination or zeal as they lumbered to a 1 nil defeat to Sheffield United on Monday. The players need to be charged up and play with determination, much like Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp has done a great job at Liverpool, he is not the best in terms of tactics but he has created a team of worldbeaters from nothing. The German coach has assembled a team of players who weren't world-class at the time of purchase and turned them to warriors; Andrew Robertson, Georgino Winaljdum and Xherdan Shaqiri were gotten on the cheap from relegated sides, Joel Matip and Adrian were signed on as free agents while the rest were not purchased at astronomical costs. Trent Alexander-Arnold is an academy graduate with just two seasons of first-team experience.

Now, Robertson and Trent-Arnold are arguably the best fullbacks in the world, while Joel Matip has formed a solid partnership with Virgil Van Dijk in the heart of defence. Wijnaldum is an unrelenting engine in midfield and Divock Origi who previously seemed unfit to be called a Liverpool player has now become their match-winner of some sorts after he sealed all three points in three important fixtures last season. Credit much go to Klopp who is a manager that inspires his individual players to put all they have got on the field to deliver success, this is what Emery needs to emulate.







With one goal down at Bramall Lane, the Gunners looked clueless, unable to unlock United's defence. One would have expected to see more passes into the box and shots on target but all they did was play passes back to the goalkeeper and inexplicably resort to time-wasting; Guendouzi and David Luiz were guilty of the latter.

Emery will have to start giving motivational speeches and demanding that his players give their all on the pitch if not the season could end dismally for the Spaniard, that's if he's still in the dugout by then.
