Three Members Of Deadly Kidnap Gang Shot Dead By Security Operatives In Rivers by GistNet: 3:40am On Oct 23, 2019
A notorious kidnap kingpin identified as Henry Woka AKA Man D. and two members of his gang have been shot dead in a combined operation by men of the Nigerian Army and local vigilante team in Elele Alimini community, Emohua Local Government, Rivers State on Monday, following a tip-off by members of the public.

It was also gathered that three other suspects sustained bullet wounds during the gun duel between the soldiers in collaboration with local vigilante group against the hoodlums.



Confirming the incident to journalists, head of the local vigilante team in Elele Alimini, John Woke, disclosed that the suspects kidnapped their victims and took them to their hideout in a nearby forest along Elele Barrack.

Woke said from the hideout, they demanded ransom from the victim’s relatives.

He said following a tip-off by members of the public, his group hinted men of the Nigerian Army, who led the operation into the criminals’ hideout.

He said the kidnappers, on sighting the soldiers, opened fire, but they were overpowered by the superior fireworks of the Army, leading to the death of three bandits.

A statement signed by the Igwe Fortune, SA on Media, Alimini Youth Congress AYC , said three victims were rescued from the gang. Read below.

20TH OCT. 2019. The Military Battalion, Lead by Lft. Ngoli (Adjutant) with the aide of Alimini Local Vigilante, Lead by John. C .AGI .( AYC service Chief) rescued Three victims from a deadly Armed robbery and kidnapping gang. The leader of the gang confessed that they kidnapped the victims at Akpabu junction along Ahoada East West Road Elele Alimini. The gang leader by name Henry Woka AKA Man D. Confessed they marched their prey for more than an hour's journey down to their camp, hoping for Ransom.

Out of pitty , the gang leader released lactating mothers. (Breast feeding mothers) and held others. He further confessed that the military personnel were very tactical by ambushing them.

It was a surprise to see uniformed men, he had no choice than to open fire against the military.

Rules of engagement played as the military retaliate with sporadic gun shots . Bullets caught majority of the criminals, two comfirmed dead, gang leader still breathing. Few flee with bullets on them.

The Vigilante group led by John C AGI on a search 21st Oct. 2019 organized a thorough search at the scene of action, found corpses.

The gang leader confessed that the military took there riffles as claimed by him.

It's strange how no community ever suspects its inhabitants nor volunteers information to law enforcement.
