Nonsense. there is no data to support this. many dont know their status and many dont patronize hospitals especially government own for treatments. We re not in techy country where everything is documented.

It is very obvious that you don't know anything about statistics cheesy

First thing, let me correct the impression you have about research generally.

A research does not have to cover everyone for the result to be statistically significant. All a research needs is a sample that properly represents the population of interest as much as possible with a very low margin of error.

For instance, you want to estimate prevalence rate of HIV in Lagos.

You can randomly select 60 people using whatever sample selection tool you can lay your hands upon. Carry out your study on this 60 people who are representing Lagos, and identify those with your disease of interest. Then you divide this figure with the total number of people that you sampled, and then multiply by 100.

Sample size = 60 (number of people measured)

Number of people with HIV = 40

40÷60×100 = prevalence rate (as %)

I give it to the first 5 states above.. grin grin grin even though the north claims the southern part of the country are filled with prostitutes... they still made it to the top 5

Southern Prostitutes travel far and wide, those states are not far compared to Italy, Spain and Mali.

Percentages do not tell the whole story.

1% of 1,0000,000 (10,000) is larger than 5% of 10000 (500). What is the population of these states and what is the base figure from which the percentages were calculated.

Don't digress or derail from the hard cold fact that the South is unacceptably more promiscuous than the entire more populated North...

How is that a more educated and exposed region continues to indulge in unsafe sexual practices??!... What gives??!

Have you inquired how the statistics are gotten?
Probably from hospitals right??
Has it also occured to you that maybe, just maybe the educated and exposed south know the value of going for regular health checkup! Compared to the less educated and exposed north who would instead rely on herbs for every ailment (HIV inclusive) and when it doesn't work, they blame it on spiritual forces (due to there poor exposure)

Exactly my thought
Those northern state where mallams sleeps with horses, cow, sheep, goat, monkey even rabbits no pass them by. Recently a poor sheep gave birth to a human, what was that? May God forgive whoever compiled this nonsense.

believe me or not. Aks are not the highest, but they take it so serious
and more aid is given to the state that has serious government on health matters.

Actually % matters!
5% and 1% irrespective of their individual population would never bear the same risk!
The chances of getting infected in a region with 5% prevelance would always be 5X the chance of getting infected in a reguon of just 1%!!!

This is where many of you get it wrong. You people think researches cover everyone in a population, but statistics has made up techniques to address differences in population by creating a sample size to represent the population of interest.

If sample size is 100 for Akwa Ibom, it would be 100 for Lagos as well. So, the percentages tell the whole story as far as the number of people sampled is concerned.

The prevalence rate of HIV in a sample size of a 100 people in Akwa Ibom is higher than in Lagos with the same sample size. So, there is a higher prevalence rate of HIV in Akwa Ibom than in Lagos.
