BREAKING!!! Jubilation As Gov. Umahi Pays New Minimum Wage To Ebonyi Civil Servants on 10th January

It was all joy for Ebonyi Civil Servants in the capital city of Ebonyi, Abakaliki today as queue was observed in all the the Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) within Abakaliki as jubilating workers were observed to be carrying out transaction after early morning alerts of their January salaries which the Governor, Engr. David Nweze Umahi FNSE FNATE ordered their payment to effect the new minimum wage of N30,000.

With this, it's crystal clear that Ebonyi has taken the lead in the states that aligned with the Federal Government and Nigeria Labour Congress agreement for the new minimum wage of 30,000 Naira.

Recall that Governor Umahi on his last 2019 EXCO meeting promised that workers in Ebonyi State will start receiving the new minimum wage, effective January 1st, 2020, a promise which he further confirmed when he directed the State Accountant General and LGAs Chairmen to seek for overdraft and ensure the payment of Ebonyi workforce, the January salaries which must reflect the new minimum wage on January 10th to enable them start the new year with ease.

Just this morning, the promise and directive came alive as several civil servants were cruising to their banks and ATMs for their transactions.

Truly, a visit to any ATM machine in Abakaliki today will without doubt send the message of joy and appreciation in the hearts of Ebonyians to Governor Umahi for always putting smiles on their faces at the right time.

Ebonyians are celebrating Governor Umahi.

Congrate but the question we have to ask ourselves is if this 30k is enough for a citizen, undecided PHCN just increase tariff, rice and other necessities price will skyrocket very soon, that's when we will realise that 30k is just peanut cry the OGA'S at the top don't care about the lower class citizens all there are after is the national cake ...imaging politicians pension being X40 after just 4 yrs in office compare to civil servants that will spend 35 yrs in service and still his pension can't compare to those politician's.

Well, imes is coming sha...The end of days. We hope that he'll be coming to clarify the truth about life; the truth of which is hidden to many people.

Advantage of having 900,000 monthly wage bill.

The problem of most States is oversized civil/public service employment.

Reduce the damned number, ensure marginal utility and increase wages.

"With this, it's crystal clear that Ebonyi has taken the lead in the states that aligned with the Federal Government and Nigeria Labour Congress agreement for the new minimum wage of 30,000 Naira".

Get your fact well. Kaduna State was the first state to pay minimum wage of 30k in October 2019.

The Governor should be commended for the effort. Even though the money is not much, at least he's paying. Weldone!!

He has indeed moved Ebonyi to a great height. He's a good example of how possible it is to develop states in this country. He's no Saint but he's trying
