No Nigerian living in London or has ever visited will ever say living on a bus in London is better than living in a mansion in Banana island. London is a dump, with a high rate of crime, homelessness, racism. I prefer to live in a slum in Nigeria before living in goddam London.

not everyone abroad also make it,I have seen a friend that spent 16 years abroad and when he finally came back all he could boast of was a piece of land,I know what I have achieved in just 2 years in this same Nigeria,,,,there are beggars in London there are beggars in Nigeria but d bottomline is dont chose to be a beggar in another man's land
People are using an isolated case to generalise as if all Nigerians in London sleep in Buses. So many Nigerians have migrated to UK and are doing very well there some owning houses valued at £1m , some having children in world best universities like Oxford or Cambridge, some earning £500 daily, majority having their british passport that enables them enter 184 countries in the world without Visa etc

Some of you talk like you're unintelligent (no offence).

Like look at this human saying sleeping in London buses is far better than sleeping in a mansion in Banana island?

What kind of fvckery and senile posit is that?

We are not talking about nice flats at banana island we are talking about Nigeria environment generally moving about freely any time of the day without any problem, having access to great medical treatment, clean air not polluted with Noise or dust or smoke, Hot and temperate weather, lack of opportunity for self development, good environment for families, access to best universities in the world and eventually getting your American or British passport. Can you get all these in Banana island in Nigeria. Can you predict life in Nigeria in 10years time. It gets worse and worse

This is why I hate church people. They will do everything and even spend to keep you in your misery while praising themselves that they are doing good.

What an unreasonable comment. Did you read the words at all? See your head like center table.

Mumu of the highest order.

Many many Oyinbos from the Europe, UK and the US are living in Nigeria and loving it.

Even I as a US citizen who has seen so many cities and countries around the world still prefer and LOVES living in NIGERIA.

Pls emancipate yourself from your mental slavery.

LMAO
If not that I'm born Nigerian
I don't think I would want to be in Nigeria

I have travelled around as well....

And id prefer living in Kigali or Mombasa over anywhere in Nigeria

White exoats paid armed robbee salaries and are worshipped by unfortunate black folks will of course love to be here...

It's just that I have vowed not to be an illegal
If not I'd have violated one of my visas

And when you talk of many
How many sef cheesy

There are more more expats in small Ivory coast than the entire Nigeria cheesy

I know many of them love the enjoyment there

Nigeria needs urgent fixing
Because my life is somehow not too affected does not mean I should pretend as if all is well...

A country with so many poor people are a threat to us.

21 years ago was 1999. Which military regime kept him from coming back since then?
His peers are DGs, managers, business owners in all kinds of fields now. Is it now he will start building towards retirement?

My people, please don't go and waste your life in obodo oyinbo. The best situation is those who hustle and make it here, and can visit that side any bloody time they want.

People say no jobs, no opportunities... There are tons of people making it big in legitimate businesses, so unless you're waiting for a job to land in your lap, you need to go out and seize the multitude of opportunities out there.

I disagree with that statement

If "tons of people" are making it

Why is the poverty so crushing and widespread in Nigeria?

People are trying to make it in the unfortunate state of Nigeria
That's true

But saying there are tons
Don't believe

Everyone saying he wasted his youthful years are ignorant of who human are. Not everyone wants to be very rich and popular. I'm sure what he wanted was to live a simple life and the love of the city of London gave him that idea of staying back.

I have uncles and also know of so many people living in UK and USA doing very well but they never step thier foot in Nigeria. So what are we talking about?

I know some too

One has not been here for 14 years....

Yet over the years
He has been one of the biggest contributor to family projects in Nigeria

People say: we are suffering. But the roads are clogged with cars. The clubs are clogged with merry makers. Estates are popping up all over the country. All kinds of phones are everywhere. People have enough money to post videos on social media. People are flying all over the country and in/out. Dubai is like Oshodi bus stop. All kinds of good movies are being made. New private universities are coming up (and people are paying).

I'm fully convinced that this poverty is of the mind. Yes there are people suffering, but there are so many more not suffering that I cannot accept that there are no opportunities.

You obviously did not serve outside Lagos /Abuja

NYSC made me travel a lot (even tho I shouldn't have risked my life) and I saw with my two eyes POVERTY and hopelessness

Soneone like me will be holed up in an enclave in say Lagos /Abuja and think that is a reflection pf the country

Indeed

You have no idea, things have changed and it's going to get worse.

It's understandable

The white nationalists are feeling threatened

But the ship has sailed

Only if they did not step foot in Africa

They would have been in their own
And we on our own

But since they decided to come here and constitute nuisances

The Africans will go there and full everywhere as well.

And if this turns violent

Europe will sink deep into the abyss

Presently, sleeping in Buses in UK is far better than sleeping in a mansion in Banana island, Lagos.
Serene environment, security fully at alert, good paying jobs to sustain, no stray bullets from untrained policemen, but in Banana island, flood fit come your bedroom come carry you enter sea.
What are you saying?
You rather be a servant in UK, living like a 2nd class citizen, homeless and looked upon with pity...I see so many slave minds here. Be creative lots of people make money in Nigeria and go holidays abroad, not everyone is poor here...what you said about preferring to stay in London buses than banana island is really stupid and dumb, there is no flood in banana island.

You are either a kid, very unintelligent or dumb...most of the billionaires have their residence in Nigeria, if you are poor and suffering, don't come here to make people see Nigeria as a junk it's not, you choose the life you live by the money you make. And the church people helped him after 21 years
see I'm sure it wouldn't have been possible to help him get the 'leave to remain' if he hadn't stayed for a long time. I'm sure the processing started at the 20th year hence the need to provide proof that he has been around for that long a period

Your writing has betrayed you. . Make your point without being abusive. I live in the same london with my own personal house worth more than £500k and british citizen since 2008 though I left Nigeria with just 6 months Visa 2001. I didn't have to sleep in buses to achieve that. Stay in your Nigeria and enjoy your ignorance

Lie's that Nigerians make, just to secure asylum is too childish. Imagine that a military head of state will cut off his head, if he goes back to Nigeria, even Nnamdi won't get that punishment.
One mumu said the Emir of Aba will force him, to convert to Muslim, once he steps foot on Nigeria.

One said the Sultan of sokoto, won't allow him to enjoy, his gay rights in Nigeria.
It baffles me these insidious kids sleep at night.

Very ridiculous. Bogus claims just to get asylum. Some paint the country like a lawless Somalia with no government. Its very irritating.

In 2017, at the age of 55, Sunny was reportedly granted leave to remain in the UK.

He would have had life, that's for a start. Where is the wife, the kid(s) or family at the age 55? Oh, all these don't matter anymore! What exactly matters these days? Surely, living on the bus for 21 freaking years does.
I got a question for you: would you have preferred that life to the one you are currently living now (I assume you are in Nigeria)?
I'm in Nigeria and I'm not even living in banana island or anything close to it but definitely I won't trade my current living for this wasted life story, never!
