I Am A Nigerian Candidate - President Goodluck On Facebook by doctorT(m): 2:02am On Dec 06, 2010 |
President Goodluck Jonathan, on Sunday, said he is a Nigerian candidate and would not be tired of pledging to the country. Jonathan faces stiff opposition to his aspiration to vie for the presidency in 2011 from a section of the North and is expected to slug it out with notable politicians, including Atiku, to clinch the PDP ticket. In a five-paragraph statement on his Facebook account on Sunday, the president said though some had made their choice, he, however, wished to urge the “rest of us” to prepare to answer whether we are northerners, southerners or Nigerians. Jonathan reminded the citizens what they affirmed to Nigeria when they recited the national pledge. “My passport and yours says Federal Republic of Nigeria. When we recite the national pledge, we affirm to Nigeria. I’m a Nigerian candidate and I will not be tired of pledging to Nigeria my country, to be faithful, loyal and honest. North or South, East or West, Nigeria is the best,” he said. http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/front-page-news/14369-consensus-im-committed-to-atiku-presidency-ibb-confirms-pressure-to-run |

I think the president should concentrate on issues of the country that will better people's life and show his competence rather than all these mind games on facebook. What do you all think?? |
Re: I Am A Nigerian Candidate - President Goodluck On Facebook by appletango: 2:15am On Dec 06, 2010 |
you're most definitely right, the only problem is that everytime he reveals a policy its almost always universally rubbished. The guy is literally too scared to speak about anything at length, so all we get are these stupid sound bites. And to think this guy is the leader of the country. God help us. |

NIGERIAN President vs "NORTHERN CONSENSUS CANDIDATE?!!" Hmmmmmmmmmmmm! Its as stark as Gani Fawehinmi vs Lawrence Anini or Gani Fawehinmi vs Abacha. |

The Northern consensus hullabaloo has only to concern PDP party members and their ilk – it all has little or nothing to do with Nigeria as a whole. Not sure why the president wants to pretend the WHOLE Nation is involved in that nonsense. |
Re: I Am A Nigerian Candidate - President Goodluck On Facebook by Akainzo(m): 9:53am On Dec 06, 2010 |
Faeb: And those Northerners ain't Nigerians? And come to think of it, your drumming that it's the South-South's turn doesn't imply a South-South consensus candidate, does it? It's high time GEJ and his supporters stop all this divisive noise around the Northern consensus candidacy, it's about politics and selecting one out of many to present a unified front is very much acceptable. It doesn't make him any less Nigerian. Come to think of it, Yar'adua that picked GEJ as VP was also a a form of Nothern consensus candidate, why didn't GEJ make noise as of that time? Or was Yar'adua more Nigerian than others? |

Akainzo: Where have you ever seen me argue that it is the SS turn? Zoning talk (like "consensus" crap) is for ethnic bigots and underdeveloped minds. |
Re: I Am A Nigerian Candidate - President Goodluck On Facebook by Akainzo(m): 10:44am On Dec 06, 2010 |
Faeb: Hmmmm, all across the politics thread and wherever GEJ is mentioned. Otherwise you can redeem yourself by stating in equivocal terms other than the South-South, minority, turn of others argument on why GEJ should be President. By the way, if not for the zoning crap, which is for ethnic bigots, how did your GEJ get to be VP to Yar'adua? or even DG to Alamieseya? Or why did he not support a Northern Chairman for PDP? |
Re: I Am A Nigerian Candidate - President Goodluck On Facebook by Faeb: 11:05am On Dec 06, 2010 |
Akainzo: You really need to get a life! I have never ever promoted zoning, like I said before, that is left for ethnic bigots and underdeveloped minds. GEJ got his position, because of the agitation in the Niger Delta. Zoning is for fools. |

Faeb: Since you contributed pictorially to the zoning talk, you yourself have confirmed that you are a ethnic bigot and that you have a underdeveloped mind. Must you participate in this kind of self deprecation? To prevent your deniability, I reproduce your post below. Olodo Faeb: |

The president and his talks, its high time for him to know that we are no longer gullible in Nigeria, he really needs to be active now to secure the presidency but someone who was not active since he has been in office can he now show some actions? The choice is his, he should stop all these talks, Nigerians have wise up. |

ndu_chucks: Dufus. The conditions that result in kids with begging bowls while they should either be getting love at home or an education in school, are what Northern cabals and scarecrow politicians like Ciroma should be looking at and with unswerving urgency too. There are an estimated 10 million almajiri's suffering various forms of child abuse, mental degradation and dehumanisation, to the extent that they are desperate enough to kill for the price of a bootle of kunu. Yet, some thieving and uncaring "leaders" can only think of crap like zoning and "our turn." Nigeria has too many problems to deal with without shameless old men injecting ethnic bigotry and mediocrity into politics. How do you explain that the best half Nigeria's population can come up with is Atiku, a man that is the target of investigation by the US Senate and FBI for weighty financial crimes? That can only be the result of neanderthal reasoning by minds twisted and warped with bigotry. Shame on you. |

Faeb: Your statement here is much better than making fun of the Almajiris and thinking that you are better than they are. The problem of poverty along with those you alluded to above are major national problems. Pray tell, what concrete steps have been taken by your uncle GEJ to address these issues. There is no doubt that previous heads of state have failed to properly address these issues. Faeb: First let me remind you that you are in a Nigerian forum, and we Nigerians are raised to be respectful to our elders even if we disagree with them. olodo. Only a fool will believe that a group of PDP members is equivalent to half Nigeria’s population. You, on the one hand call Atiku a Northern candidate, and then on the other hand, start a thread that indicates that Nupe congress and other Northern groups are disowning Atiku. Stop speaking from both sides of your mouth. I for one, would not be surprised if your uncle fails to secure the PDP ticket. Rakumin Dajij |
