Adamma91: Wow How is your farm doing? I'm still contemplating between 4 to 10 acres. Seed is the last thing I'm waiting for. Is your ugu doing fine without ridges/heaps? |

Frank4jesus:We are both right. I was specific, you are being generic. Different seeds with diff methods of breaking dormancy. 2 Likes |

EverythinDeals:4 to 10 acres hmmm, that is a huge project. Hope you have market for that because in rainy season there is always glut. I learnt by April, may the price of seed can go as high as #10 to #12k. Ugu is doing very fine though this harsh weather really dealt with it upon we water every fortnight. |

Adamma91:. u mean u water every 2 wks? That's too infrequent now. Evry 3-4 days would be OK. The little I planted is watered evry 2 days and they look very dark and fresh - just as if it is in the rainy season. 1 Like |

Adamma91: Yes, Ada it's huge, the only factor left ias adequae market for the commodities. Can we corroborate and share ideas offline especially with marketing where I need help? I'll like you to send me your number privately. I'll like to know can the plant survive well without heaps/ridges? How many seeds will fully cover one acre of land? |

FarmTech:, which one is two weeks here, I said we water every fourth night which literally means every 4 days. |

Adamma91:. . U made a mistake in spelling fourth. U used: fortnight /ˈfɔːtnʌɪt/ noun a period of two weeks. 3 Likes |

FarmTech:igbos and ss region consume more ugu leaf compared to any other part of the country.. I think that's the reason markets are still selling in your side... besides.. it depends on the supply of and demand as well |
Re: Starting My Ugu Farming With My Friend And Mentor by Psalmy2cute(m): 8:36am On Apr 04, 2020 |
Adamma91:you planted ugu in Ogun state?? I thought your location was lagos??.. in ogun state.. ewedu, green leaf, and most other leafy vegetables have higher demand compared to ugu |
Re: Starting My Ugu Farming With My Friend And Mentor by Adamma91(f): 9:36pm On Apr 04, 2020 |
Psalmy2cute:ugu sell very well where I am, my friend has been here for three years cultivating ugu and she has been selling very well. it just matter of this lock down, buyer from Lagos troop in here every four day to buy all sorts if vegetable. I live in Lagos but I farm in Ogun state. She has ugu that she has been selling before now and demand was high. This one is for both of us. 2 Likes |

Adamma91: Spray tube ia your best bet. 3km spray tube is enough to irrigate the full farm. |
Re: Starting My Ugu Farming With My Friend And Mentor by Psalmy2cute(m): 8:43am On Apr 06, 2020 |
HornyTave:how ?? I learnt 50m spray tube is sold for 13k.. do you intend she'll be moving the spray tube all over the farm? |
Re: Starting My Ugu Farming With My Friend And Mentor by HornyTave: 9:00am On Apr 06, 2020 |
Psalmy2cute: Spray tubes are installed like driptape. effective for crawling plant, also good for lettuce, shoko ewedy etc |
Re: Starting My Ugu Farming With My Friend And Mentor by Psalmy2cute(m): 9:54am On Apr 06, 2020 |
HornyTave:I'm more concerned about the price.. it would take hundreds of thousands to install spray tube on an acre of land and it will also increase the growth rate of weeds.. instead of spray tubes why not go for drip? |
Re: Starting My Ugu Farming With My Friend And Mentor by HornyTave: 1:53pm On Apr 06, 2020 |
Psalmy2cute: Drip is more better for Ugu, pepper etc but spray tube is recommended for Lettuce, onions etc |
