BTW, When I mention trophies I dont refer to silly tournaments like to Worth-Nothing or Milk cup. Any cup you want must have its equivalent in other leagues. Win either CL, League or FA cup shikena. And in your delirious mind you think the Bundesliga title has an equivalent in England ? If indeed there's an equivalent it may be could The community shield but i doubt even that . |

^ edoyad, the Bundesliga title is the equivalent of Lagos State Principal Cup's title. eko o ni baje o, jo o. And other BL trophy have their equivalents in NURTW Cup |

While DK is busy sharpening his Viewer skillz on our thread instead of worrying about Munschit's slide into obscurity in that irrelevant league called the Bundesliga, I'd like to turn attention to the transfer window which will soon open. Some might ask why, considering that Arsene is not a big spender in the transfer window and considering the fact that we are known for bringing through youth (at present, almost 50% of our first team squad players had youth cup appearances for us before moving on to the first team and yes before some people come on here to start spouting opaks, that includes Cesc Fabregas). My answer to that question would be Nasri, Arshavin and Koscielny in that order, clear evidence of Arsene dipping into the transfer window to fill gaps in the team where we don't have ready replacement in house. The one place where this team seems to be shouting for new blood is the wing forward positions, I pick on this position because we are an attacking team and it seems when we are not scoring or keeping the ball in the opponent's dangerous areas, then we are conceeding (no matter who we have at the back) an analysis of the players we have in those positions is given below: THE PRESENT 1.Samir Nasri (23): Top of the pile at present and likely to be for quite a while, has been an incredible assest so far this season also having age on his side. 2. Andrei Arshavin (29): Unplayable on his day but a bit erratic and has a questionable work ethic. A luxury player unable to get with it when the going gets tough, getting on in years now. 3.Theo Walcott(21): What can I say? speed demon you wish could add a bit more but as time passes yu feel just doesn't have that extra factor, still has time on his side and could ultimately end up central but methinks will never be of the class of wing forward we need to get to Barcelona type levels. 4. Tomas Rosicky(30): Great player in his time, but hasnt really been the same since that long term injury, doesn't have age on his side and at present is probably in the team only in a big brother role to the upcoming youngsters IMO. 5. Carlos Vela (21) Another one you feel is better suited to a central role as a box poacher, had interesting cameos but is yet to fully convince in any role. THE UP AND COMING 1.Jay Emmanuel Thomas(20): I know most would be surprised to see him mentioned as he is often tipped by most (myself included) for a lone striker role but I include him in this list cos of a recent statement by Liam Brady head of the Arsenal academy I think he has found his best position now under Neil Banfield, in that roving role on the right side of the attack. The first team's formation could suit him.If yu ask me, I think JET can play any Attacking role yu give him and will give full backs a different kind of test with his physique and ability but we'll have to wait a bit to see him as an Arsenal regular because Arsene wants him to go and prove himself in the PL first of all. And yes, though I hate to admit it, there are question marks over his work ethic too but at 20 there is time enough to sort that out. 2. Wellington Silva(18): This was the great hope IMO, has everything yu need in a wide forward and quite a work horse too but still raw, unfortunately didn't get a Work Permit and will likely go out on loan probably for the next 3 years like Vela, would have been interesting to see him as an understudy to Arshavin. In the opinion of a 17 year old Nigerian born Man City youth player I met who played against him in the tournament at OT where he came to prominence, he is even better than Wilshere.(note: Not my opinion) 3. Ryo Miyaichi (18): Still far off 1st team standard but one to watch out for (should make the remaining FA youth cup matches) and with Aneke and co, this is already lookin like another youth cup win. WHAT I THINK WE NEED Eden Hazard (19) of Lille: What more can I say about this lad? 19 and already made Ligue 1 team of the year, won French League Young player of the year twice, already has 17 international caps for Belgium, the list goes on and on. Lightning fast like Theo and dangerous from either wing. Was recommended to Real Madrid by the Great Zizou himself. I think he already has the ability to bench Arshavin and at 19 has so many years left in him. He is also still young enough to be moulded. Getting him now works for us in so many ways: 1. We can have some competition and potential replacement for Arshavin since Wellinton's arrival is delayed. 2. In preparation for Cesc potentially leaving in the near future, we can move Nasri to his preferred Central position since Eden has more pace and is a bit of a specialist winger, while we subsequently bring Wellinton in later on. 3. Has potentially incredible sell on value a la CR7 This deal should be possible considering Arsene's french connections and the lad has already expressed that he would be happy to come to us, its all about how much would convince Lille to let him go. Anything between 13m and 20m should seal the deal considering we got Nasri a player of similar pedigree for 12m just 2 seasons ago. |

duduspace: Brainlessness is a dominant gene for GAYYners confirmed. Bayern that is the BL defending champ is sliding to obscurity less than 6 months after winning. Then what can we say about a team that has been trophyless for half a decade? BL that has the last 2 World cup Golden boot winners is irrelevant? Tell me the combined goals of all Arsenal players at the Mundial and compare it to 20yr old Thomas Muller Can i do more harm to your senses than you have already done? |

@ Dudu You are like a stubborn goat. . . .always coming back for more punishment. It's pointless epistles like the one above that keep getting you in trouble. You're building castles in the air and making silly prognostications like Hazard will have CR7 resale value. . . .on the basis of what exactly?? Leave aside predictions - you're so bad at it that people will make more money betting against anything you say. Just leave Nasri's name outta your predictions before you jinx the boy. |
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (R.I.P Bawomolo). by duduspace(m): 2:11pm On Dec 20, 2010 |
debosky: You never disappoint, I know out of all Arsenal fans your own go different. Can you tell me how many predictions I've made and how many I've missed since we are now counting predictions? Its amazing, this is all you could pick from my analysis up dere, do I smell bad belle? abi yu don dey smoke DK's gbana? I would have preferred you tell me what you think we need, even if its CBs rather than picking on a single statement about Hazard as if that was all I wrote about. |
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (R.I.P Bawomolo). by Ibime(m): 2:17pm On Dec 20, 2010 |
I smell bad belle. Hazard has many of the technical capabilities of CR9 but he does not have CR9's physical strength which is what cops him the goals. |
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (R.I.P Bawomolo). by debosky(m): 2:20pm On Dec 20, 2010 |
Bad belle for a guy that isn't even an Arsenal player? I won't go into the 'Utd's play can't get any better' nonsense you were spewing a few weeks ago - the sensible thing would be to admit your folly and move on. But then again, self realisation is not a trait you associate with stubborn goats. |

Ibime: I hear yu jare Ibime, trust Debo to nit pick, he is getting worse at it than even DK these days. Having "potential incredible sell on value a la CR7" does not mean we will get exactly 80m for Hazard but with what the boy has shown he looks like one who could be sold on comfortably in the 40m to 60m range in the foreseeable future (injury and progression permitting) |

Duduspace, What about your claim that the Man Utd reign is over? Yet they still schooled your in-form boys a week ago. |
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (R.I.P Bawomolo). by eldee(m): 2:41pm On Dec 20, 2010 |
duduspace: I don't care man . . . you post before you think, no offense. That's exactly what just happened again here, CR7's resale price?? Even Rooney that's been a star since he was 16 never had anyone say that kind of B.S. |
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (R.I.P Bawomolo). by duduspace(m): 2:43pm On Dec 20, 2010 |
dayokanu: Season don end? in all fairness though, they are doing better than I expected. Though this time last year, they were still in the Carling cup. |
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (R.I.P Bawomolo). by dayokanu(m): 2:44pm On Dec 20, 2010 |
Does Eden Hazard have CR7 commercial appeal to attract that kind of money? Diaby is the second best Drimbler in Europe Vela has the technical ability of Messi Eden Hazard would in the future command CR7 transfer fee. Why is it that all insane postulations come from this Useless thread? |
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (R.I.P Bawomolo). by dayokanu(m): 2:46pm On Dec 20, 2010 |
duduspace: If season never end, How come they schooled your boys whom you told us have come of age and are ready to take over from manure. Man Utd even did it without breaking a sweat, Yet your team was considered to be in better form. Arsenal that would take over could only place second behind Shaktar Donetsk in the CL groups |
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (R.I.P Bawomolo). by duduspace(m): 2:46pm On Dec 20, 2010 |
eldee: 3. Has potentially incredible sell on value a la CR7 so this statement means, he will have CR7's exact resale price? eldee, this is nitpicking, nuff said. Anyway, for avoidance of doubt, that is not what I meant and I've clarified that. |
Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (R.I.P Bawomolo). by duduspace(m): 2:49pm On Dec 20, 2010 |
