the disparity of rich and poor in india. slum side by side with buildings.

seen on the train
Just like in Lagos. I guess things are changing now in Lagos though as several slums are being demolished.

the conductor. he was so irksome.

he issued the upgrading tickets to some indians while he refused to do my ticket. and he forced me to leave this cabin while my cup of tea was still on the bunk.

i refused to budge. he was at his wit's end. i was a foreigner, their rules did not apply to me. he knew it. he was pissed off and then dozed off. i guessed he looked kinder when dozing off.
I was searching for the conductor in the click (as Indians call picture) until I realised it was the well dressed man with big tummy taking a nap grin

I wonder if you travel with a Nigerian passport. That would tell to an extent if you were discriminated against at the hotels because you are black or because you are Nigerian, or maybe both.

He is actually not a Nigerian, he is Asian, Chinese I think but living and working in Nigeria.

late in evening, i shifted to a seat near the door, in case to get off easily.

two young men whom i was afraid would be bad guys turned out to be teachers in a primary school. they were on their way to himachal pradesh state for vacation.

they showed me their xiaomi phones with great enthusiasm. they would spend one month salary buying a phone, which was about 120 dollars.

got a hot shower and hopped on bed, although i did not eat dinner today. it was too late to feel hungry, and there was a big bulldog outside the hotel which blocked my way back to the railway station night market to look for food.

day 14

today's mission was to explore the historic city , the pink city, in jaipur, in the morning. and then dashed to the capital new delhi. it was 200km from here to new delhi. i took my time.

the jaipur metro, built under the thousand year old palace and plaza.

the emir palace. who was emir? the second hand of india under british rule. the man second to the viceroy. the highest slave among indian.

dozens of policemen, not security, were post there, in order to check the tickets to go inside. ticket cost 1000naira.

i did not go inside. i had no respect for any top slave, let alone his house.

the chimera god

it was very noisy and chaotic in a hindu temple.

zero pressure to take lots of photos, no qualm for photos as in holy places of other religions. i find this religion quite hilarious and amusing. sounds they win believers by noise and fruits.

backed to the station. trying to buy a SIM card for my phone. there was free wifi at each station, but i could not access. i needed a card. but , ALL the shops could not sell a SIM card to a foreigner, they needed an indian ID card to register with.

the rice with bright color looked enticing, but dont be cheated by the appearance
