when the train rushed in the tunnel, the youngsters who hung themselves out would yell, making funny noises.

it had been a while since the end of the overloading situation in india trains. people were usually sitting inside. but some intrepid guys would still hang .

arrived in thiruvananpatanum. it started raining. i hurried to find a hotel. but all said they had no vacant rooms. i had the police help me out. this was the room i finally settled in. very safe, the owner must be responsible to my safety for sake of the cops. i even got a discounted price.

during my search for a guesthouse, i waited for the rain to stop , in a roadside foodstall. no one was there except the owner, who allowed me to sit for half an hour and heard me out my tribulation to find a hotel. he even called a friend to come and take me back to the station in motorcycle, for free. he professed he had no idea why all the hotels refused me, and he thought i could find one near the station, but unfortunately still no.

they served me food , but they did not give me a room. so strange. this food came from the same hotel which has refused me to stay.

anyway, their food was palatable. spicy, juicy, flavoury. but i could not help thinking whether they have put poison in it out of revenge for my calling for a cop to intervene.

state-run guesthouse inside the station. in big cities, only holders with higher class tickets were allowed to stay. but this was a small city and it was 2am. the sleepy janitor took my money and showed me the BED-ROOM.

amother night being refused by all the hotels in a certain city.

my room , been sleeping for 5 hours, 2am to 7am. charged me 500naira. very cheap. safer than i thought it would be. i could hear the horn and siren of the passing trains all night long. quite romantic.

day 9 from kozhikode to Goa.

Goa was a travel hotspot. zero pressure to book a room. people were hospitable once you got a fat wallet.

cost of everything was higher than other cities. too many white tourists. but luckily i met none. i slept one night and left.

morning sight of kozhikode, the city i was about to leave.

i liked the daytime of india. it was much safer, and gave me a feeling of "integrity". when nights came, a discomposing vibe permeated everywhere. same street had a two faces.

my breakfast. food was the most lusterless part of my indian journey , for me.

i need to be honest to myself.
