Dakkada Networking Experience Discusses The Future Of Work Amidst Corona Virus by Uyouko2: 8:55am On Mar 28, 2020
MARCH EDITION

In what seems to be like a peep into the future, stakeholders and policy makers dared all odds to gather for the March edition of the Dakkada Networking Experience; a monthly networking opportunity for policy makers and key industry players.

Interestingly, due to the outbreak of Corona Virus pandemic, a live-stream session of the March edition featured presentations by professionals on the topic for the month "The Future of Work" as the speakers took their turns to give insight to the workspace with evolving technology trends at heart.

The panel was made up of Software Developer, Agim Ikwen, CEO & Founder of Uduaa.com, Joshua Attat, Founder/CEO of Start Innovation Hub & Country Mentor, GDGs (Google Developer Groups) Nigeria, Mr Hanson Johnson and Blockchain Developer, David Zoe.

In his remarks, after being presented with an Honourary Membership certificate into the Dakkada Leadership Forum, the Science & Technology commissioner Dr Iniobong Essien urged citizens and residents to ensure good hygiene and safety measures against the COVID-19 Pandemic. He hinted of strides by the adminstration to create an enabling work space for tech enthusiasts in the state, highlighting the vision behind the Ibom Science Park, which recently got the nod of the governor for remodeling and reconstruction to meet modern standards.

Speakers took turns to give an evaluation of the impact of Covid 19 on industries and how the business world is responding to the challenges it has posed.

The Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Entrepreneurial Development, Mrs Meflyn Anwana noted that with the paradigm shift currently happening, old systems are worked out and new ways and tools will emerge. She noted that some people in work spaces have been affected in one way or the other , due to government closures, businesses shutting down, cancelled events, and travel bans so we are in for a life long learning process and Now is the time for innovators, creative thinkers, problem solvers and collaborators to explore and help enterprise partners come out the other side with a stronger foundation of open talent networks , structures or platforms and problem-solving methodologies.
