So, three months after the emergence of COVID 19, this audio Governor is still contemplating how best to handle the situation. By the time he's done with his foot - dragging, I hope the virus hasn't infect too many in the state.

Same WHO that told you that the virus can't be transmitted from human to human as recently as Janaury ending?

Or the same WHO that has been a shitshow in this pandemic.

Everyone venturing out needs a face mask. A group of about 60 to 80 Choristers had a practice session in the US mid March, none was symptomatic as at then and they performed social distancing, staying feet away from each other., no touching and stuff. Wash hands and all other precautions.

At the end of the day about 45 tested positive with two deaths already. That not only confirms that speaking, singing and breathing in air in close proximity can lead to people getting infected. At this point , using face masks is a necessity when going out.

Below is a direct quote from the article

""So now we know, oh hm, maybe it's transmitted not just by droplets and sneezes or coughs; maybe it's transmitted just by people talking, just by people being around each other," Comstock said. "And then of course, if you're singing there's more volume to the talking, deep breathing and more volume."

This is not a solid plan that is suitable for our peculiar environment. Yes, we need face masks. Czech people produced their own face masks. What measures has he put in place to make that happen in Oyo IMMEDIATELY? There's no time to waste.

Oyo people are truly O- Y -O!

This shows that sentiment has refused to let you learn. Why do your so called health workers wear face masks? are you trying to tell us that face masks do not protect us from contacting the virus. During this pandemic people all over the world wear face masks because no one knows who has the virus or not. Don't mislead people with your ignorance please.

holuwashezy:
Oyo State governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has said that the state doesn't need to go the Lagos, Ogun, Osun and Ekiti way on total lockdown before the spread of coronavirus can be curbed.

Makinde said during a phone call conversation to a popular radio station in Ibadan on Tuesday.
And how many face mask will each person get.
Or na wash and wear face mask?

The governor who reiterated that everything that can be done to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Oyo State is on the table, that the government will continue to assess the situation and take additional measures where necessary.

Quoting the governor verbatim, he said "Yes, Lagos can be on lockdown, Ogun can be on lockdown, Oyo State, yes, people have been saying have a total lockdown and then I have been asking them questions. What will be the benefits here? Are there alternative courses of action for us to take? If you ask people not to come out, you lock down the market places, there are people who what they sell today - the profit from today’s activities is what they will eat tomorrow. There are plenty of people like that within our environment. So, are there alternatives available to us? Can we do selective lockdowns? That’s why I imposed the curfew.

"I think, everything is on the table but it has to follow a logical pattern and it will need the input of experts. We are not just going to lockdown because everyone is looking down.

"I have been watching CNN and the most successful place right now in containing this is the Czech Republic. And one of the things they brought out is that they made a law that if you must leave your house, you must wear a mask. It may be that route for us to go.
I have asked them to start evaluating that. If we must make that law and say everybody that must go out must wear a mask, then, how about those who cannot afford it. Can we make masks locally? Can we get our artisans and our tailors to commit to that with the government supporting? So, those are the type of solutions we are looking for."

Enough of the false hype. Time is fast running out so he needs to come up with a definite plan. As we speak the state is operating as if there's no governor in place. Life's still going on as if there's no coronavirus, perhaps the ONLY state in Nigeria that is still doing that even when states like Anambra that don't have a single case are being more proactive. If he truly put the people first as you claim he wouldn't have held that infamous rally against better judgement. This sychophancy of the governor needs to end if he's to make progress. He needs to act NOW, enough talk please.

Just what sensible minds have been saying.
This is a leader that does what is expected of a leader, analyzes issues, weighs options and comes to a sensible decision for the benefit of state, man and society.

What most people don't understand is that social distancing is a privilege. Let me give you my reasons:

1. Most poor people live together in small rooms where it's impossible to isolate yourself.
2. Most poor people do not have access to running water.
3. Most poor people cannot afford to buy hand sanitizers or health masks.
4. Most poor people need to go out to find something to eat and will die of hunger in a lockdown.

It is easy to say "social distancing" but for most of the poor, it's impossible to practice it.
thanks man. But it is not everybody that has capability to reason this way. Many are rich that they dont care 'bout the poor. We have so many motherfùckers who don't even know what it means to be poor.

Makinde is a big fool and those his Igbo PDP supporters would ruin him. He wants to go the Czech way. Were Czechs holding political rallies in the midst of a pending epidemic?

It is unfortunate that this fool wants to ruin Oyo State and use it for his foolish experiment. Oyo people would pay for his foolishness, not the Igbos supporting his stupidity.
