2020 Easter: Glo Charges Nigerians To Pray by themomentng: 6:10pm On Apr 11, 2020
Christians in Nigeria have been enjoined to seize the opportunity of the Easter festival to beseech God to heal the world and assist scientists to procure vaccines to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The grand masters of data, Globacom, stated this in a release to commemorate the 2020 celebration of Easter which marks the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The company charged Christians to use the lesson of Easter which symbolises selfless love and sacrifice to support their neighbours by staying at home and observing hygienic practices as the world grapples to contain the corona virus.

It also prayed for quick recovery for the victims of the pandemic and for God to comfort those who have lost loved ones to the pandemic in Nigeria and overseas.

“Let us use this Easter period to further reflect deeply on the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on the cross. This sacrifice is a pointer to the fact that God cares for the human race at all times and has plans for their redemption from sin and all evils. This should rekindle hope in our hearts at this difficult time,” Globacom said.

The company further reminded Nigerians to be mindful of the guidelines prescribed by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the National Council for Disease Control (NCDC) towards safeguarding their health against contracting the deadly disease. “Remember to wash your hands regularly and use alcohol-based sanitisers; eschew unimportant travels and refrain from holding or attending large gatherings,” the company advised.

The total telecom service provider also assured its subscribers of quality service on the network throughout the holiday period and beyond, while urging them to “spread the good news of Christ’s sacrifice and the hope of redemption of the human race” by using the network to make calls and send messages of goodwill to their loved ones.

The attractive offers on the network include Stay Home Data plan that gives subscribers up to 20% more data, the Sunday data plan that offers 1.2GB for N200 on Sundays and the Glo Amebo which gives customers five times the value of recharge to call any network.

The celebration of Easter is the conclusion of the Lenten period which prescribes a 40-day fast to purify believers through prayer, sacrament, repentance of sins, almsgiving, and self-denial in commemoration of the passion of Christ.
