This Man is so foolish and heartless.
Abia is yet to record any case of Covid-19 yet he's killing the poor masses with lockdown.
meanwhile the state boarders are still open even though he publicly says it's strictly locked down.
Now what's the essence of giving two free days for restocking, is it that the virus will be going on holiday.
Bunch of Selfish leaders

They all need the €50 largesse from the EU specifically for Covid-19.
This extension is just to prepare things. If you know, you know.
Heartless, evil political leaders.

Quack journalism! The caption says extension but the story is about resumption of lockdown. The lockdown was suspended for two days to enable them restock.

Extended by how many more days, weeks or months?

Some governors think it is smart to extend lockdowns.

Metrix147:
The Abia state governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has extended the restriction of movements order in the state to curb the spread of COVID-19 from Monday, April 20, 2020.

This is the second time the state government is extending the lockdown.

In a release signed by the Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu on Friday and made available to ABN TV, this extension is following the advice of medical experts and a painstaking review of the coronavirus situation with the state COVID-19 Inter-Ministerial Committee and in the state's continued determination to protect Abians from the pandemic while also ensuring that the effect of preventive measures on the people is alleviated.

"The window of two days, Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, 2020, is for our people to restock while the total lockdown resumes on Monday, April 20, 2020.

"Abians are expected to use the two-day restocking window to acquire face masks as it is now compulsory to wear face masks before leaving home.

Abia state government is terribly confused and dumb.

How can we be on lockdown for 16days and counting, whereas, the border is still open?
People from other states, more especially, Lagos are still trooping in. Isn't this foolishness? sad

The right to do was very simple... Tighten the security at the borders. Don't let anyone enter the state. We sit at home for 2weeks(to be sure no one has it); if no one has it(just as the case is now) then let people start their normal lives but the borders still heavily guarded.

Imagine after wasting 2weeks indoors then during this relaxed state, someone from Lagos or else where, just starts spreading it. What would be the essence of the sit-at-home we have been observing.

Rubbish!!! undecidedundecided

In as much as I want to believe that the Governor ment well for Abians, I think it could have been more appropriate to cushion the after effect of the lockdown by providing for the Residents. Hunger virus no be here oo

and should this virus continue to spread amongst other states whereby a vaccine is yet to be found, what other measures will he take to curtail the impact of covid19 upon his citizens.
the governor is only playing politics so as to cash out.
like I said, Abia state borders are still open.
to show how serious he is, why not close the borders and since there's no case yet in abia, let everyone maintain social distancing, always come out to the public with face mask as well as keep good hygiene.
you probably do not know the level of low income earners in that state that's why u won't understand
Re: COVID-19: Ikpeazu Extends Lockdown In Abia by edoairways: 8:26pm On Apr 17, 2020
Shutdown the borders, make it mandatory to wear facemask and then enforce social distance.
