There was a period I stayed up to 15weeks.well I think they just pick people at random.there was also a period I spent 4 days.
I think they just pick some people and want them to come physically.I know of some1 that stayed up to 3months +,she wasn’t asked to come for an interview.again it’s over 10yrs I did my 10print.
Don’t know their reasons sha.

5 working days is Thursday, so maybe you'll hear something by Monday.

Hi, not the person you asked the question, but in my experience it seems to be at random. My mother, sister and I once applied together for IW and my sister was invited in for a physical interview. We later found out a few years later that there was some kind of error in her records in their system so maybe that might have had something to do with it.

I had a passport stolen before my last visa, so if they invite me in we will know that it's not completely random.

Where I will be staying in d us?
At some point I mentioned I will be going to canada to see my sister,so they asked about her status and what she does.
They also asked how long I will be staying this time.

Well, what I know is this: my sister is married to an American citizen who was based in Germany. She recently returned with their 2 kids for a short stay. Upon applying to return to Germany, her visa was inexplicably denied. After several appeals, her husband got fed up and gave up his job in Germany so they could all return to the US. Of course their 2 kids are US citizens. Only her with 9ja passport dragging the family back lol...
Anyways, the point of this story is that she too applied for US visa but initially got a distant date. That's when she got introduced to a connect who worked some magic for her and got her a date within one week
We initially had plenty of suspicion until the appointment was verified online and that's when she received all the login info after paying the connect.
The interview was just formality cos her 2 boys are US citizens so she had smooth sailing. Got her visa few days later and now the family is back in the US.
Just find the right connect if you seek a quick interview appointment.

Actually no, got my own visa last year, still valid till next year, she does not have one yet, just applied but got net Year as interview date, called the embassy already but was told to keep checking, thought me having visa might get her a closer date as I have a busy schedule and hardly go on leave

I just booked an IW drop off date for mum and found out that she needs an updated DS 160 form since hers was filled in June 2022 and the form is supposed to be at most 6 months old. My question is this: if i fill out another form it will have a different number from that on her appointment confirmation. Will this be an issue? Also, does she have to appear in person for the submission or can i do it for her? Thanks

If you applied for IW and these dates shows, that means those are the available dates for drop-off. You dont need to appear in person for dropbox.

The approval means you're free to pick any date for drop box at DHL.

That's a question I'd been pondering as well, cos I'm sure there's only a handful of places you'd need US transit visa to get to. Can't even think of any right now.

Yea number discrepancy almost always costs you your appointment, cos they'll refuse to attend to you and you'll have to go schedule a fresh appointment.
Best way to get around this is this:
Carry both copies along.
To ensure there's no mismatch, take the original form.
To ensure the form is up-to-date, take the updated form.
Whichever one works for them, it will be up to the Visa Officer to decide. But you would have played your part in meeting every possible requirement.

Secondly, the point of IW is to eliminate the need for in-person interview. She doesn't have to show up.
