skull4eva: You should mail the GPD and your supervisor too. Just a simple mail requesting for financial assistance in the form of funding or assistantships. GPDs know how to get such funds to students, even if it's just a little. In some departments, even Masters students get some funding too. Be polite in your email and don't appear as if you're begging. Hope you have the contact of the GPD of your department? You never mentioned the department. I'd like to know so that I can also research and explore possibilities for you, if any. 1 Like |

Dear good people of Nairaland, please I was offered admission by Cape Breton University into Baccalaureate Diploma Business Analytics, commencing this fall. But I already have Msc in Insurance and Risk Management. Will the VO see it as progression or regression or should I apply for another Masters program. I am currently working with a financial institution. Please I need your advise and any useful resources that will be of help. |

silvamania:If you don’t want to submit the salary account then just include payslips and other documents and you are good to go Also no harm in submitting both Which ever way works fine 2 Likes |

timilehinemmanu: I would best suggest you contact the international admission office directly to enquire about the present status if your admission. After sending the email across to them, give it sometime (4 weeks) before sending another mail. It will end in praise. 1 Like |

damosh360: If you're inclined to undergo an upfront medicals without the visa officer's instructions, you can forge ahead with your plans. Immediately after completing the upfront medical exam, do raise a CSE via IRCC web form with the copy of your E-medical slip. It will end in praise. 1 Like |

Anndav: VAC have started dispatching passports that are in their custody back to applicant's mailing address. I know someone who got his passport returned to him last week. Did you pay for any courier service charge after the submission of your passport? if yes, then i would advise that you should keep sending emails to the embassy while you CC: the VAC until your query has been attended to. At this present time, your passport is still with the visa office in Nairobi. It will end in praise. 2 Likes |

bravolyk: These are significant ties that can motivate your departure after studies. Having said that, the onus is on you to explain to the visa officer the benefits and the importance of these assets to you back home. It will end in praise. |

Greatadams: Yes I do know someone going for an undergraduate program that received his AIP letter on August 17. I don't think AIP has anything to do with applicant's level of education or even the school. Once the visa officer recognizes that you meet the ELIGIBILITY requirements for a study permit, an AIP letter will be initiated. It will end in praise. |

skull4eva: You don't need any specific format. Just make it simple and direct. Dear GPD (or name), I am one of the new intakes of the PhD program in Bioresource Engineering for the Fall 2020 semester. I would like to confirm if I am eligible for any departmental funding or assistantship at the moment. I would really appreciate if I can get a funding offer as this would greatly enhance my living condition and facilitate my application for a study permit. Regards, Skull4eva. 1 Like |

Good day everyone, I am Currently studying in Russia for my bachelors degree. Is it possible for me to process my student visa from here or I have to come back to Nigeria ? I want to leave Russia because of the language difference and I plan studying law in Canada. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by fratermathy(m): 9:23am On Aug 31, 2020 |
skull4eva: I did some research as promised and came across this: Financial aid is available but limited and highly competitive. It is suggested that students give serious consideration to their financial planning before submitting an application. Normally, a student will not be accepted unless adequate financial support can be provided through a scholarship/award and/or by the student's supervisor. Academic units cannot guarantee financial support via teaching assistantships. It seems your request should be directed primarily to your supervisor. However, you should still send the request to the GPD. You shouldn't even have been admitted without financial support in the first place so you have a strong case here. |

olasubomy: You're not required to sign any of the IMM forms. Upon uploading of documents into their various categories, you will be prompted to use your full name as written on your international travel document to electronically sign and transmit the documents to IRCC.
