Agreed the UK has a welfare system but it isn't as immediate as you make it.

6 week wait is common. Should you need an advance, it would come in as a loan which must be paid within 12 months.

All of this of course, is for those who have a history of work/tax.

If you honestly agree that UK has a welfare system that works, you shouldn't have asked the question about any palliative in UK. You see in life one or nation need to plan incase of situation like this. Nigeria as a nation don't plan anything and that is why we are where we are now.
