gidgiddy:And yet you appropriate yourself Nairaland spokesman? How many IPOB members have really taken time to study? You lots just jump up and down making noise everywhere and keep destroying the little gains Ndigbo made before the coming of Kanu. I'm actually not taking a diss on you guys or even Kanu, but I feel you guys have done more harm than good and should take the back seat. 11 Likes 5 Shares |

This is really epic. Biafra should be without the inclusion of any minority unless they willingly opt to join. Let's remain homogeneous. Homogeneous countries tend to be more successful, cue japan and norway 18 Likes 1 Share |

It is surprising that this thread that was meant to educate the younger generation about the history of Igbos and their kiths and kin in the old Eastern region has now become an IPOB bashing thread. Some people just want to criticise without proffering a solution.IPOB may not be perfect just like any other freedom fighting organisation all over the world but one thing I know is that the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu has done a lot in bringing to the consciousness of the Igbo nation, Biafrans and world the plight of Biafrans in the present day Nigeria.Hence you should give him credit for that. Moreover, I doubt that there is any Igbo man alive right now who can command the kind of followership that he does. IPOB modus operandi may not be conventional but you don't throw away the baby with the bath water. Let's discuss the theme of the thread and leave IPOB alone. For your information, I am not a member of IPOB, at least not yet. 19 Likes 1 Share |

This thread just reminded me of an incident that happened 10years ago in port harcourt My mom was having a conversation with an ikwerre man, along the line the man asked her where she's from and she told him that she's Igbo from Anambra State. You need to see the way this man's face changed and i taught he smelt something bad with the way he squeezed his face. "I hate igbos" he said with disgust. My mom asked him why and he said he hate igbos because of what we did to them during the old eastern region and that his father abi grand father told him that. If there's any tribe that was brought up with hate, it's those ikwerre people. Ipob should thread with caution. 20 Likes 2 Shares |

UdechiHD:Yea, he can't translate it to solutions b'cos he is unsure of his ideas. The worst thing that can happen to anyone is to follow someone who doesn't know what he wants. I have learnt that Pazienza is just one of them. He supported Nnamdi kanu, supported Ipob, Supported Biafra and supported sit at home. Now he hates Ipob, hates Nnamdi kanu and hates Biafra. It is very simple to write and dwell on a probem. Infact every breathing human can detail a problem but only those who are sure of their own ideas can boldly venture into the all important task of solving them. It is those who solve problems that are called heroes and not those who criticize them. Education and knowledge has never been our problem In igboland. Our problem has been the lack men who can dedicate their time, risk their lives and solve our problems. Ask him the solution and watch him prevaricate. 8 Likes 1 Share |

OfoIgbo: People like to criticise Kanu but the truth is that there is nothing better him or IPOB on the ground at the moment. There over 20 Biafran groups out their agitating for one form of Biafra or the other, nobody even remembers there names because they try to diplomatic, rational and civil. Unfortunately, they are dealing with a Nigeria that does not respect those norms so they have been relegated to limbo, which is where Nigeria wants them to be. But every Nigerian knows IPOB and Kanu because they are far more radical. Take out Kanu and IPOB and it will be back to limbo. 17 Likes 3 Shares |

UdechiHD: The wilinks report has nothing to do with IPOB or or Kanu. This is a purely historical report that is over 60 years old and has nothing to do with current times. It is about the past, not the future. What gains do you think Igbos have made? Whatever you see Igbos have today has been from sweat, ingenuity and hardwork, none which will change whether Nigeria exists or not nobody has gained anything from Nigeria, if anything, Igbos have lost a lot. I believe in the independence of the Igbo nation as a seperate country, I believe Igbos will do much better when they are out of the failed country called Nigeria, and I have believed so, long before I ever heard anything called IPOB 27 Likes 2 Shares |

nijabazaar: IPOB and Mazi Kanu don't have the power to force any grp to join Biafra! Their position is to start from the historically known Biafra, and then any group not happy to join can opt out! I suspect a lot of people railing against IPOB and Mazi Kanu know within themselves that ALL these non Igbo ethnic grps in the Niger-Delta or the so called south-south will either opt to join the Igbos in a loose federation or choose to go it alone! Remaining in 'one Nigeria' would not be an option for them, and this is what 'one Nigerianists' from other parts of the country actually fear, hence their resolve to attack Mazi Kanu and IPOB at any given opportunity! I can tell you for free that these non easterners actually fear Mazi kanu and IPOB more than the bloodthirsty bokos! 4 Likes |

gidgiddy: You are getting it wrong yet again. I was aware when Uwazurike came to London to establish Radio Biafra. I believe the event was held in Queen Mary University in Mile End London. I was in the audience on the day I was also aware when Dr. Ikedife and the rest of them started coming up with the idea of IPOB. It wasn't meant to be registered. I remember that in a forum, the late Dr. Ikedife told the listeners that IPOB must never be registered otherwise it becomes an Achilles heel that our traducers can exploit. He made it clear that every easterner was an Indigenous Person of Biafra. I remember on that day, he revealed that there were various arms to IPOB, with Radio Biafra being one of those arms and one Nnamdi Kanu will remain the director (remember this radio was established by Uwazurike, but after Uwazurike and Kanu fell apart, Kanu brought the Radio into IPOB). You must know that Kanu did not form IPOB, but he took advantage of the fact that he was the mouthpiece that people were listening to, to then hoodwink people into giving them the impression that he created IPOB. Now just to grab ownership of the name IPOB, he, along with Uche Mefor went ahead to register this name in London, against instructions by proper legal minds, and made themselves the only directors of the entity. Do you know that IPOB was declared a terrorist group, mainly because it was registered. If it was not registered, the Buhari government wouldn't have any legal entity to really declare a terrorist group. The question you should ask yourself is this. Who registered IPOB? The answer is Kanu. So Kanu is a huge problem but you guys don't know it yet. There are far better materials to lead this struggle, but because he likes all these populist grandstanding, he has used it to confuse eastern artisans into thinking that there is no one else but Kanu, and that is a grand lie. Believe you me, there are far better materials with the intellectual ruggedness in tow. It is a pity that Dr. Ikedife is late now. Col. Achuzia is late now. And Eze Ozobu is also late. Kanu used his position in Radio Biafra to ridicule these true patriots of the Igbo race and major elders of true IPOB, and these illiterate keke drivers and okada riders bought into those lie hook line and sinker. As I wrote earlier on, he should have buried his ambition, and allowed the people with the know-how who really came up with the IPOB idea, to guide this struggle. It is a real pity. By now, Biafra would have been a reality. But we are stuck now we someone who is not intellectually prepared for this sort of struggle. Facebook and twitter will not give anyone Biafra. They are just mass media tools, which is quite useful in educating the general public. Today the whole thing is riddled with semi-illiterate people who go about on social media, acting as mouthpiece of the struggle, all because of a half-baked leadership. It is a real pity It's because we have a useless bunch occupying the presidency in Nigeria. That's why Kanu became popular. Anyone can become popular, if Buhari's the president 6 Likes 1 Share |

Collyweed: Would we be here talking about Biafra if it were not for Kanu and IPOB? Probably not. Who raised the Biafran issue to the level of consciousness it has become in the minds of people. Those who are criticising Kanu and IPOB are those who wish they were out of the way so that nobody would even remember or be talking about Biafra. 10 Likes 1 Share |

OfoIgbo: Lets just assume that everything you wrote above is true. Do you see anything better on the ground? Where are all these people that are supposed to lead a far more sophisticated movement that will eclipse that of Kanu? And why have they not started? If they have started, why are they unheard of? It is not enough to come out to criticise Kanu if you cannot do better than he has done. Everyone with a smart phone and internet connectivity now has access to the methods Kanu uses to communicate, be it Facebook, Twitter, YouTube or online Radio. Those who feel that Kanu is on the wrong track should start communicating their superior arguments and ideology to the people and they will listen But all we have are those who criticise Kanu, but offer nothing to replace him beyond their criticism of his words and actions. Its not everything that Kanu says or does that I agree with but the reality on the ground is that I cannot do better and I have not seen anyone who can. 15 Likes 1 Share |

gidgiddy: You sound exactly like me when I used to defend Nnamdi Kanu with IPOB. That’s reasoning is wrong. Just because he is willing to dedicate his life to his version of IPOB liberation doesn’t mean he is moving in the right direction. It’s been 6 years since Nnamdi Kanu started getting very popular with his radio. What exactly has been accomplished with it. Now he is a perpetrator of one conspiracy theory to another. He should visit the meetings of the south south minorities he is including in his referendum to see the level of hatred this people have for him and igbos. IPOB has lost me. Think about it for a second. I have collected insults on their behalf and spent hours defending them. For them to loose my support tell you something of fundamentally wrong with that organization. It’s up to you to face the reality and reach out to IPOB to change course or they will one day loose you the way they lost me. I was a young boy when MASSOB was very popular and I remember how they faded away in Igboland. The same fate awaits IPOB if they don’t make this movement mainly about igbos and approach is from less emotional stand point. Be more realistic and pragmatic. 9 Likes 1 Share |

gidgiddy: I have already written that Kanu did not form IPOB. Some other people did. And the plan was huge. Now that Kanu has hoodwinked the public, and ran with a half-baked idea, I cannot blame the true originators of IPOB if they now feel let down by Kanu, and decide to go and rest, as they seem to be doing now. Kanu used his mouthpiece position to commence an unwarranted attack on Uwazuruike, who really started this new-Biafran movement. Instead of giving him his dues and carrying on from where he left off. He used the IPOB platform to attack a known soldier, who definitely must have his flaw after all he is a human being. A totally unnecessary attack, I think. So he used his mouthpiece position to subdue any group he felt were a challenge to him, when he started. He went after the true originators of IPOB, and also went after Uwazuruike. I found both actions shocking and totally unnecessary. Kanu should have left IPOB and formed another group if he was that great, but he stayed in there and used a name that was already gaining some ascendancy, and registered it to give people the impression he formed it. I really don't blame the brains behind the IPOB idea, if they have now decided to rest, and give this whole struggle a wide gap. Having written the above, I like Kanu and in the absence of any other meaningful opposition to the dictatorship that we have in Nigeria now, he can carry on, but I doubt whether he has the wherewithal to get us Biafra. I suspect some other force or someone with the necessary qualification, will do that for us, in God's appointed time. 2 Likes |
