Beloved as the church of God these last days we have to be careful the way we study the word of God and understand the mind of God. I have read through the comments of my friends. First of all, we are not talking of experiences of man here .We are talking about the pure word of God and ensuring that we rightly divide them and approve ourselves before God. Thanks for those whose eyes of understanding have seen that the concept of Tithing is different from the concept of Giving. It is true that tithing may be a form of giving but giving is not tithing. Tithing is one tenth of all we have to the levitical priests. If it is two-tenths it is no more tithe. if we want to follow the law of Moses please make sure you follow all for if you break one you break all. No man in good conscience has successfully kept the laws of tithing that is why Jesus Christ came and redeemed us from the curse of the law.Gal.3:10-13, James 2:10
It is true that the first Tithing was given by Abraham to Melchisedec but was entrenched into the law and so it became a statutory. It is a demand from God to the levitical priests because they had no inheritance. The other 11 tribes were given possessions but nothing was given to the levites for they were to assign themselves to priestly duties. Therefore one- tenth of All they had must be given to the priest. ONE-TENTH OF INCOME, CLOTHES, SHOES, RAMS, BULLOCKS, ETC
In the dispensation of grace, the levitical order has been changed to Melchisedec order wherein we are all made king and Priest of the most High God whether we believe it or not the price has been paid.The clergy/laity order has been cancelled. There is no mediator between God and man except Christ Jesus
Some of us claimed that Melchisedec was JESUS CHRIST. This is wrong teaching. Melchisedec was a natural man here on earth, God designed it that in one man the authority of a king and Priest is observed.He first instituted a type of the new covenant by giving bread and wine to Abraham Abraham paid tithe to melchisedec but melchisedec did not pay tithe to GOD. Melchisedec was not JESUS
For JESUS had a foster father Joseph and a mother named Mary. When the bible says without father and mother it means that there is no mention of his genealogy. Melchisedec was made like unto the son of God does not mean that Melchisedec was JESUS CHRIST
GIVING demands love and self sacrifices John 3:16. It is free-willed and not a function of the law. In Acts 2:41-47 and Acts 4:32-37 reveals to us the way we should give to our brethren most especially to the poor ,needy,and the destitute around us. Every believer must develop the right attitude to giving so that he receives God blessings .I DON’T MEAN TITHING. Tithing brings the curse of the law to us
NOBODY HAS RECEIVED THE BLESSINGS OF MALACHI 3:10, Bring ye your tithe into the store house…………………….and prove me saith the lord of host if I will not open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessings, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. If we are to look at this scriptures literary as per the letter of the word, Nobody has ever given $200 as tithe and GOD lavishly blessed him with open heaven’s blessings such that his house, parlor, rooms, toilet received dollar rain else he would have ceased to continue payment of tithes. The only place in the scriptures God talked of open heavens was during Noah’s Flood. The whole earth experienced open window blessings and there was no place to contain water. Be careful here. Abram gave a tenth of the war spoils. That was not brought forward into the law. Under the law, God only required 1.1%, not a tenth. Therefore, what Abram did had nothing to do with the later law.
