FG commences distribution of food items to 3.1m households under home grown school feeding programme
The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has said it will commence the  distribution of food items to 3.1 million house hold registered under the Home Grown school feeding programme in Abuja.
In a press release issued Monday to journalist in Abuja, said the exercise will start on Thursday in FCT,  followed by Lagos and Ogun, while   other states will follow subsequently.
The  statement said that the take home rations will be used as means of distributing food items to house holds, registered under the National home grown feeding programme.
The statement added that the minister had liase with state governors on directives by the President to develop strategies on the continuation of the school feeding programme, as the  children are staying at home. 
The statement said the take home rations came in as a feasible method for distributing the  food items to house holds. 
The statement explained that the take home rations is  globally accepted  for school feeding programme.
