These people you mentioned were not seeking re-election, in fact your post supports Obaseki because they were trying to play Godfather which is what Oshiomole is doing. Ambode is a different case.

must you insult the Oba to make a point ? So if the Oba supports a candidate, he should go on air and announce his preference? Where and when did happen before in Nigeria? Those close to the palace will pass words out codedly when the time comes and the Binis will obey, TRUST ME- the OBA is a father to all and he will not make his preference public like you want it to be

Direct Primary - All registered party members in the state will vote in their respective wards. The posters of the contestants will be paste and the members will line up behind the poster of their preferred candidate, counting will take place and announcement made to the public. This happens in the whole ward of the state. Example is the APC primary in Lagos state between Ambode and Sanwo-olu.

Indirect Primary- is when selected delegates were picked from each ward and send to the state capital. They’re gathered at a place and secret ballot voting takes place. Example of indirect primary is the PDP presidential election won by Atiku.

The Oba of Benin doesn't take sides in a competition between two of his subjects.
The Oba of Benin promotes unity amongst his people.
You may not be able to understand this because of how things are where you are from, but the great Oba is above politics.
