no 5 is what bothers me a lot, it's the main reason why I will NEVER be a jehovah witness

I understand that you as adult may make the decision that you are not a part of this world

a child cannot make that decision! every child deserves to live till the age of 18 where they can decide whether or not to take blood

bloodless alternative is too expensive and virtually inaccessible

I think I understand numbers 1 & 2 to an extent.

Some of my closest buddies back in high school were "Witnesses"- about 5-10 of them [yeah, that many]. Great guys those men.

Of a truth J. H do not believe in heaven or hell.

The OP shld stop twisting believes. They believe that heaven ND hell are already happening as those enjoying are already in heaven and those suffering in hell.... They believe That for heaven, God will wipe away all the bad people and the rest will live a peaceful happy life here on earth as the heaven...

The don't believe in the symbol of the cross. They say Jesus died on a pole ND not a cross...

On the speak on tongue... I may b confused on this as to which is Tru... But they don't believe in that

For the celebration, I think they God the concept wrong to trust more in science and archeology..... If a child choose to change his name from what his parents named him :we align with such child ND call him his nu name........ So if the people genuinely can't figure out a date of Jesus birth and death ND choose a day to celebrate those, God sees through their heart and would rightly hear their greet gs and prayers.. J. H is doing over Sabi with proving archeological facts to dis ard Christmas ND easter celebrations...

That is not true. We make voluntary contributions at our various kingdom halls in a box situated at the back of hall. Each person does it discreetly and not as means of show off. And it is not compulsory

I remember when I was in Ss3 ... I had this beautiful class mate of mine called Uchechi ...she was a very funny and lively girl and she was a Witness.

One fateful day she had an accident on her way to write NECO exam .... She lost a lot of blood and was the hospital requested for blood transfusion but the parents refused ... Everyday we went to the hospital we literally watched our classmate tether on the brink of death just because of a stupid manmade ideology.

Our principal had to involve social service authorities from the local govt and when they intervened, they took over the case and called the senior brother who was in another state to come and donate blood since the parents were adamant.

That was how Uchechi's life was saved but the unity of their family was never saved because she quitted the church when she went to Uni and her parents kind of partially disowned her.
you attend community secondary School ojo?

Why don't you guys marry outside your church but your members have sexual intercourse with non members.

Why don't you guys accept other churches books and listen to their preaching but you go around knocking on people's doors.

Why don't you guys enter other churches if invited to weddings or anniversaries, which I know you do celebrate.

Why?
who go settle this matter now

1.
Myth: Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe in heaven.
Apparently, this is not a new saying as people tend to say what they might have heard about the Witnesses not scrutinizing them whether or not they are truth.

.
Truth: Jehovah's Witnesses believe in heaven as the residence of the Creator of the Universe.
.
2. Myth: Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe in hell.
.
Truth: This is where people misunderstand themselves. Jehovah's Witnesses believe 'Hell' is the common grave of mankind. Witnesses do not believe in 'hell fire' as it is unbiblical, unless you'll show me where the original sinners -- Adam and Eve -- went to 'hell fire.'
.
3.
Myth: Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate anything.
.
Truth: If you mean holidays like birthdays, Christmas etc., of course yes. Think: what is the relevance of Santa Claus in the bible? Do they or not have pagan origins? In fact, Witnesses commemorate the Death of Jesus as Jesus asked his disciples to do.
.
4. Myth: Jehovah's Witness do not speak in tongues.
.
Truth: Well, Jehovah's Witnesses speak many languages as they come from differing lands but do not involve in the ecstatic speaking performed today by religious leaders. The first century Christians who received the gift used it to preach to people (as the early congregants were filled with people from many lands), so they spoke a language and all who heard understood. Note: To preach. Is that what is done today? Don't throw caution to the wind.

.
5. Myth: Jehovah's Witnesses do not do blood transfusions and are wicked to see their loved one die.
.
Truth: Witnesses put much faith in doing God's will. Sorry to disappoint you, they love their children and loved ones. In fact, medical practitioners agree that it is not safe either, and no guarantee of living well or surviving as no blood samples really match another. Besides, there are other non-blood media. Coming to think of it, Witnesses put faith in the resurrection. Yes, so why worry of this wicked world?

these Jehovah witness people are the most hypocritical set of humans you would encounter on planet Earth.

Even Jesus spoke in tongue when he prayed at the Cross of Calvary, Christian speak in tongue to God and it meant for God and speaking in tongues his through the power of the holy Spirit and not by the speaker himself and let it stick to your ear that never is it used to talk to man but only a man by Power of the Holy Spirit communicate the supplication of his heart to the ear of God alone who hears and answer

Which tongue; do you think Jesus spoke English?

Thanks for trying to correct these misconceptions. I will like to ask you to explain another myth that says witnesses believe in heaven on earth and that only 144,000 people will enter heaven. Thanks

You got it wrong. They believe they will be a new earth after armageddon, this new earth will be occupied by the righteous ones while only 144,000 will make it to heaven to rule with God over the new earth.

I don't know how correct their doctrines are but I admire their lifestyle and how they employ brains when reasoning Christianity.

I'm proud to be one of Jehovah's witnesses. Many false stories have been told of JW. I remembered before leaving high school, two approached me, and showed me from the Bible the condition of the dead. The truth about the dead I learnt that day warmed my heart, and the quest to learn more from them began. To know the truth about the condition of the dead people read these scriptures from your Bible or read Bible free from our website www jw.org Ge 3:19, Ro 5:12
gPs 88:10, Ps 115:17, Ps 146:4, Isa 38:18, Joh 11:11
Job 7:9, 10, Ec 2:16, Ec 9:5. Thank you for taking time to read those scriptures and meditate on it.

grin grin grin What bag do you suggest they carry for their literatures, books or bible. Back pack bag? or on their hands. No one is forced to carry a type of bag, it becomes a necessity when you start evangelizing the way they do.

Religion brings more trouble than peace

Parents that lack responsibility and commitment bring more trouble than peace. Their children are inhumane, they lack proper upbringing.
Religion is not our problem, we're our problem. If religion ceased to exist, evil men will use politics, tribalism, regionalism etc to kill and destroy.
Politics has killed more than the number of people religion has killed. Many politician use religion to play politics. If the people of particular region are not religious, politicians use tribalism and others to cause problems for their selfish interests. Boko haram, ISIS etc are all political.
Yet u don't see politics as evil only religion. Politics does not preach morality religion does. Only few people follow the teachings of religion, majority are morally bankrupt, they use religion and politics to achieve their devilish aims and objectives. Blame it on them not religion.

Peace!

By the way am in love with one but she is trying to convert me to believe in things am not comfortable with like that Jesus is not God. Am being patient with her cos she truly loves me, am planning on coming to a compromise with her in our different beliefs so that religion won't interfere with our relationship, my pet name is unbeliever though but am okay with it once she is comfortable with not irritating me with her belief. Am very sure she ain't gonna agree to sex too but am fine with cos I've had my own fair share of sex in this life and am tired of it.
