Optimizing Content:
Before thinking about optimizing content, the first step would be keyword research. Yes, Keyword Research is the first step in SEO.

There are a lot of tools out there on the internet for keyword research, but a lot of them are paid and very expensive. If you are a just starting then it is not advisable to purchase those tools. Instead, you can use the tools that are available for free.

1. Google keyword planner
2. Ubersuggest
3. Google Search Console

Google Keyword Planner:
Google Keyword Planner is a free tool. It is an absolute best tool that all new webmasters should use for keyword research. When you search for a keyword in Google keyword planner, it directly pulls data from Google.

It is a go-to tool even if you are an experienced SEO Expert because it helps to identify keywords that people are searching for in google.
So, what do you get in this tool and how to use it?
All you need to do is just enter keywords related to your content and it will show you short or long-tail phrases related to the keyword you entered. It will help you identify keywords that people are searching.

It not only provides you keyword ideas but it also shows Avg.monthly searches, Competition, Low range bid and high range bid.
These factors will help you in selecting the perfect keyword to target for your content.

Ubersuggest:
Ubersuggest provides you with keywords that are not available through Google keyword planner. When you type in the keyword and click suggest the tool shows you results in a formatted alphabetical order. Ubersuggest has different types of options one such option is Site Audit.
In Site Audit, it shows data related to the domain you enter. On-page SEO score, total no of monthly organic traffic, No of keywords the domain ranks for and No of Backlinks.

It also gives you detailed information by performing a health check of your website.
In Health check, it shows the total no of crawled pages, Healthy pages, Broken ones, Pages that have issues, redirects and blocked.

Critical Health section shows what needs to be fixed to increase your website SEO Score and along with this, there are other sections as Warnings and Recommendation.

Google Search Console:
Google Search Console is not exactly a keyword research tool but it can help you rank your articles and drive more traffic to your website.
But how, In the Google Search Console go to the performance section and scroll down to find Queries column.

The Query column will show you the list of keywords with the no of impressions and clicks it gets.
Using this data you can select a keyword that drives more clicks/traffic to your website and create an article related to those keywords or add extra content in already posted articles using this keyword without disturbing their originality.
