LudaChriz: Standard chartered, no charge whatsoever! After two months you'll meet exactly the same amount you left in there. NB: I'm not a marketer, I have accounts with access and stanbic but I still prefer to have money saved in standard chartered bank account + standard chartered interest offering is good 4 Likes |

toolovely: Yes o. Monthly. I was surprised the first time I got the interest alert. No bank (GTB, FBN and access) has ever paid me interest for keeping my money with them. Now, once my salary enters my FBN account, I just wire it to my zenith bank account |

kponkedenge: Most of us dont know how savings account operates. Most bank in Nigeria will not give you interest on your savings account if you withdrawal more than 3 times in a month. Therefore, if you do that you will not get interest but get debit alert for sms charge on the transactions carried out on the account. For the accounts you dont use but leave money there, you will get interest and you wont get debit alert for sms charge too. meanwhile interest rate in all the banks remain the same which is 4.2% per annum for now. 2 Likes |

If you opt for GTB savings, open it with a regulatory Id card, get your naira MasterCard, activate your internet banking, get your token device and opt for only email notifications for transactions. This way there are no fees on all your transactions except inter bank transfers. I hope to open a zenith savings account soon. UBA, Access have some unreasonable charges. E.g stamp duty is expressly stated to be charged from current account hence savings account is exempted yet access would still charge you 1 Like |

Meninmen: GTB condition is that you shoud not do up to 4 withdrawals per month in savings account in order to earn interest. That's why it's called savings account. I hope to try zenith bank soon. |
