Inspite of this obvious failure factor which should be addressed first some buff..ons are calling on God as usual, what is wrong with this hopeless country?

Must men pls ladies? Why are all nigerian youths about pleasing ladies nowadays? Haven't u heard that in europe a lady does not expect the man to pick the bill if they go out to eat together or if they go watch cinema? Why can't u boys read books that will raise ur thinking above that of antelopes? So u tink ladies will survive if guys fashi their ways? Have u ever asked a truthful lady if she can stay without a guy forever? Answer; No lady can, I challenge any lady on this thread to say not true. Have u observed no lady will make a simple comment on this ur thread as typical on nija sites? You know why? Nija ladies have been brought up to the knowledge that the men shud do evtin for them and that the men no matter how they shakara initially will soon capitulate. So the ladies know how cheap u guys are. When u travel out of nigeria u will be ssurprised at how the ladies will appreciate u. I was in SA recently and I thought the ladies were pulling my legs due to the attention I was getting, the same thing when I go to east africa. Go read ur book and work hard. Don't ever run after any girl, give any girl that gives u a green light a chance, if she has a downside u can help her to overcome it or rise above it. That way u become a better and greater individual. Leave any girl that feels special alone, let her go and meet 'special' guys if at all there is anything like that. Am really sad at how cheap guys have become in nija

Properties / Re: BBC Replies - "Ever Seen A Well-Built African House On BBC?" by 5megabyte: 3:55pm On Dec 08, 2013
thisisayus: What I sent to them include;

In fact if I were to base my entire knowledge of
Africa on what I see on those channels, I
wouldn't believe there was a single storey
building standing in the entire African
continent.
No wonder when I travel abroad many people
ask me questions like: ''Do you have cars in
Nigeria?'' ''Do you live in proper houses there?''
''Wow! You mean you have computers there?
Phones too?? Internet! I had no idea!''
Or if they don't ask, they generally give you
this condescending look that says ''we know
you must be glad to escape your mud hut and
lions to come out here... and we know you're
not thinking of going back.''.
Quite sad really. This distorted image of the
continent accounts for much of the racism and
prejudice faced by Africans across the globe.

Other things I've never seen on western
channels in relation to Africa:
- Tarred roads/expressways with cars on them
- Banks
- Universities/higher institutions
- High rises/skyscrapers
- Large numbers of well dressed, well-to-do
people
- Traditional festivals
- Airports
- Nightclubs, restaurants, bars
etc etc

Be honest to yourself what is the ratio of developed cities to undeveloped settlements in africa? So are u saying you have never seen lagos or abuja on BBC? Aren't those 2 at least presentable? The fact that one ignorant white person in the UK asked if u have storey buildings in africa, does that mean itss because of unbalanced reporting by BBC? And finally come to think of it, what is the main news about in africa? Isn't it always about one mobutu, babangida, gadaffi, etc stealing all the people's money and plunging them into senseless civil war? So should an arab for instance be angry if the BBC shows syria war, egypt in turmoil, lybian civil war, pakistani unrest, etc, isn't their region mostly about war? My guy, we need to sit up big time and stop blaming ANYBODY we find

If girls aren't accepting short boys, then what are short boys not liking in girls? Are girls the only one to choose? Why are nigerian guys brought up to act cheap all the time when it comes to lady issues? Do u think its only guys that long to have rship? If a girl wants a tall guy even if he is a slowpoke then what are u doing been around or even minding such a person if u know u not ass tall as she wants? Most times a girl is praying to God to have a guy's attention then the next thing the guy begins to play cheap begging her and then she decides to play hard to get since a mugu has shown up. Nigerian guys are one of the cheapest guys on earth. If u check even NL u observe that the ladies hardly contribute to any romance threads becos they know the beggarly nigerian guys will pour out their hearts first, yeye guys

Islam for Muslims / Re: Is Islam The Most Discriminated Religion In The World? by 5megabyte: 5:28pm On Nov 29, 2013
bee444: Islam is not being discriminated against, but Islam is discriminatory on itself. Always citing Muslim population when trivial issue arise depict the shallowness of those observers. And saying only few groups or Muslims are responsible for the worlds terrorism is a slap on the victims of these violence.

Whatever you call it, there's no other name for violence than violence itself. Islam is a submissive religion, submissive to the will of Allah... Killings of infidels is a clear instruction and must be followed to the detailed. The emphasis "Islam is a religion of peace" makes a mockery of this religion... Because it is not... Well, clearly to those without ( non-Muslims).

When a sect or religion uses violence or force in order to convert people or make its voice heard, then that's a dangerous religion. Terrorism in Islam is not only done to non-Muslims but to Muslims as well. Go to Pakistan, Kabul, Baghdad and the rest of the deserts countries, you'll see how Muslims are killing one another.

No justification of this kind of behaviour is moral. And saying you are being discriminated against is an overstatement. You should be happy that its only discrimination you're getting!!!

Every sensible muslim must read this, it is the stark truth! Its a slap on the victims of islamic terrorism to continue to say islam is a religion of peace. In the kenya mall attack, after freeing the muslims to go, the islamic terrorists hung many of those left on meat hooks!! The simple difference btw islam and others is that no other religion will kill in the name of their religion or God, a mexican cartel gangster will not ask u to recite the bible to kill u, only islam does this and to worsen it all, they all use these lop-sided references that christians also kill people in america or mexico. It is irresponsible and. Very very wicked

Fulaman198:

This is the kind of thing I am talking about people saying that Islam is violent (using a select group of people to judge almost 2 billion people). Should people say the same about Mexican drug cartels (aren't most Mexican people Catholic/Christian?) What about all the shootings that happen in the inner cities of America (America has a large Christian population), heck a lot of places in the Americas are like this. It's not the religion.

Always use references in the correct manner, the gangsters that shoot people in america, do they shout 'I shoot u in the name of Jesus blah blah blah' before shooting people? Or have u ever heard a drug cartel came to a mall and matched christians out then killed others remaining? In kenya mall attack the attackers had people recite the koran before killing anyone who couldn't. Not only in kenya it has happened everywhere, last year it happened in wukari at that polythecnic, so please why do u muslims find it very very very difficult to objectively review ur wickedness? I have heard this lame example been given for the umpteenth time and please look for a new lie, thiss is not working anymore

If you can't decode the past, the present and the future will of course be harder for you. Even if a mobster may not become president (for obvious reasons - which of course is the need to be behind the scenes and not draw attention), for a long time and maybe up till now they had control over the US government up to the White House. By the way, you asked a question and I answered. If you want to talk more about the corrupt history of the US, create a thread and I will join you.

Raggedy_Ann: It's quite disturbing that whenever we come under criticism we tend to deflect the negative opinions with insults. That's incredibly dense. Are people not allowed to form their opinions about you anymore? For a nation that claims to be interested in branding its already abysmal public image we are not open enough to feedback, how else would we know when our methods are yielding results. Ah right, we couldn't be bothered with results as long as processes are put in place to allude to our "good intentions".

It is unpatriotic to deny the corruption we are all witnesses to. Would we not talk about the elephant in the room? We see the the big a** Dumbo, why is it shocking to note that others see him too? How are we expected to improve if we wouldn't even admit we have a problem?

There are few secrets in this info age, decisions taken by leaders become public record within minutes. Our twisted concepts of plea bargaining which essentially allows the courts to make deals with the criminals by sharing the booty; the fact that "brown envelopes" are prerequisites for opening doors; the fact that a Nigerian court can rule against election cancellation because the level of fraud committed wasn't enough to affect the out come; the fact that a woman who approved 628m for the renovation of two official homes and 12 cars was not formally indicted but pressured to resign instead to allow the next man "misappropriate" 10b more; the fact that functions are duplicated to justify more public offices and subsequent resource allotments to dwindle our revenue; the fact that the government would not only consider but actually follow through with rewarding criminals for magnanimously laying down their arms.........all of these shocking and disgusting acts have become part of our track record.

As for internet and other related scams? That's just "all in a day's work" for us. At least one phone call or text the average Nigerian receives per day tells us we just won some relatively huge amount of money. More people are learning to ignore such messages but some still fall victim. Scammers have now progressed to using messages that appear to have been sent from banks. I don't have a diamond bank or a first bank account but somehow I have been receiving credit alerts without reference but a request to update my details to get full information. Most of us are used to this and we bear these excesses with humour. There are even songs about yahooing that portray this kind of thievery in a glamorous light.

Defrauding people is as inconsequential as placing a stumbling block in someone's path, not even deserving of a slap on the wrist. Na sharp guy!

I'm sure a country that thrives within the boundaries of the law would best steer clear of Nigerian idiosyncrasies. But they have to deal with the growing migration of Nigerians, majority of which are looking to make quick money to impress their people at home. The number of upstanding Nigerians in diaspora, sadly isn't enough to counterbalance those that are giving us a bad name. The growing population of Nigerian criminals is a menace a lot of foreign countries have recognized and it is their responsibility to adddress the issue.

An Indian minister recently compared the problem to a cancer- INSIDIOUS, and most Nigerians responded by calling the remark racist. The British government has proposed several strategies some of which never saw the light of day for their extreme nature. They have toyed with the visa bond, and are asking for the human rights act to be overhauled to enable them deport foreign criminals to serve out their sentences at home so that they don't freeload on their tax payers. People are bound to react to this and you can not fault them. They would go on sensitization campaigns or review their immigration policies because they care about the fate of their country.

We aren't despised for our skin colour or because we are stupId (because we are not), it is our dubious work ethic and dubious moral ethics that have put us in this position.

Thank u sir, am so surprised people have to be reminded by you of these very things that abound everywhere in nija. I now see the effect of watcching clueless home video

knights Templer: The writer should stfu, cuz Americans lead the world in financial scams and all whatnot.

Here are few - Bernard Madoff It's estimated he took his investors for a cool $65 billion over the course of nearly two decades. And he didn't just con fat-cat billionaires and celebrities (such as Zsa Zsa Gabor, Kevin Bacon and Steven Spielberg); humbler individual investors, banks and even charities lost money in the scheme. The scheme wasn't revealed until Madoff himself confessed his crimes.

Allen Stanford -While investors were still reeling from the fallout from the Madoff case, another Ponzi scheme led by Texas billionaire banker Allen Stanford was broken. Like Madoff's scheme, Stanford's dwarfed most other Ponzi schemes; he managed to accumulate $8 billion over a decade from the sale of fraudulent certificates of deposit (CDs) in his bank in Antigua.

Go and sit down, they are talking about institutionalised corruption, yes maddof stole money but did u hear he was a friend of the president? Did u hear that he won an election after that and went to national assembly? Have u ever heard that a farouk in america remained in the national assembly as a lawmaker after having a scandal of that magnitude? Accept thetruth nigerians

Truth be told, even if the government decides to actually do as you suggested, not all graduates will be able to tap into it; I just can't see it working that way.

Yes going public is also a very good idea. In dubai the citizens dont work because the oil wealth gets to everybody, its indians and blacks that you see working in dubai. If the govt is really serious about ending poverty then why cant it be that lets say all graduates of a particular discipline form a body andvget an oil well, iin such situation even if tge person did not get job he will be fine from the proceeds of their collective investment. So why are we watching as IBB, and down to goodluck just sit down and decide who to make a billionaire on our collective wealth, why? Please i believe this is serious matter.

Name means nothing, absolutely nothing! Of course a name can have a historical reference or emotional link but that is where it ends. There were many solomons, emmanuel, josephs, johns, favor, blessing etc in the dana crash, so is that how the ending of someone with those supposedly positive names should be? All these growing ignorance in nija is caused by 2 things:
1. Excessive home videos made by half-baked, unexposed local movie producers
2. Preaching of academic -failures-turned-pastors

Dear OP, I don't expect you to get any helpful advise here as you know that blacks (particularly nigerians) are the most self-deluding people on the face of the planet. All my married friends that have extramarital affairs are always the first to sing the praises of their wife and the beauty of their union. A married woman who used to be my friend is a habitual adulterer but you can never beat her to the way she portrays her home, even recently she was caught with a young boy been intimate in her car in a parking lot! Yet you need to hear this woman sing about her 'blessed' marriage. So dear kofsy I feel what you expect as responses, am sorry you talking to the wrong audience, nigerians will rather die than admit their failures, blacks are not known for soul-searching, we are more comfortable with glee and endless entertainment. Please make ur observations analyze them and come to ur own decisions - nigerians are what Fela called them years ago - 'suffering and smi.....)

Also remember that the legislooters salaries aren't the only culprit which is the mistake many people have been making, many agencies are terribly overpaid, why? A manager in nnpc gets annual housing allowance of N5m why? If he is given N1m and the rest used to employ 10 nigerian youths will that be too much? Go to ncc, bpe, dpr, ptdf, nimasa, firs, cbn etc and u get the same. In cbn a directors monthly pension is still above N1m why? This is after going home with a severance pay (gratuity) of about N80m, my brother in a poor country why?
