The Inspector of Special Investigation Unit (SIU) has quizzed the chairman of Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State, Alih Ajuh, and a bank manager in Lokoja over N100 million fraud.

According to police sources, the chairman was quizzed, following allegations by Omala Elders Association, alledging that the chairman, instead of using the funds allocated to the local government to deliver dividends of democracy to the people, used his official position to loot, steal, embezzle and gratify persons with the funds.

Particulars of corrupt practices alleged that Mrs Ajumah Tabita Ajuh, wife of the chairman, was retrenched from the services of Omala Local Government in 2003 but in 2008 when her husband was made the caretaker chairman of the local government, without compliance with due process and technocrat inputs singlehandedly paid the wife a whopping sum of N1.4million.

I think the Tunisians and Egyptians have shown us how to tackle this monster called corruption, I am sure they are watching too and they are getting afraid. If anybody steals our vote again , we simply march to our own Town squares and stay put till the person is removed.

This is a disgrace, how can you embezzle such an amount when your mates are embezzling in dollars and billions of Naira. the guy should be dealth with to teach anyone entering the corruption game that this is a game for Big Boys Only - If you cannot embezzle Big money, don't even think about it

NIGERIANS are sad about the pandemic corruption in the country. WE are just waiting to hit the squares and forcefully oust these corrupt politicians from power. The world is watching what is happening in Egypt and i know We Nigerians are quick learners.

That chairman is a big disgrace & he should be severely punished for what he has done. That should serve as deterrent to others like him.

DETERRENT to who?.They will only say he is a novice & needs more coaching.

This is one of the main reason why i want Buhari and Bakare in the government house, once you're caught and tried, you SHOULD be forgotten in jail until you complete your jail term, each political criminal caught stealing money should be assigned 2 personal prison ward and with a tag on the warders that if the politicians escape, substitute himself with someone else in that same prison and it's known to the government, then these 2 warders are going to serve the rest of his jail term.

If you steal anything close to 100 million naira, you should get  life sentence

Anything into billions, death by hanging, drowning, firing squad or even through MOB lynching.

WE NEED TO PUT AN END TO THIS.

We all see the way the Asian corrupt politicians commit suicide anytime they are caught? there must be some HARD punishment they always run from, hence the high rate of political suicide there.
