I like Mugabe for what he has done with the redistribution of land to indigenous Africans, but he needs to step down.

What has he done with redistribution of land?

How has it lifted or improved the life of the common man or the nation?

Good stuff!

I have been educated.

Although not conclusive (mainly due to natural limitations), it seems like a very reliable and balanced report.

This tells us that change is possible without taking up arms. Human resilience is more powerful than weapons when it comes to change. MEND, Boko haram, MOSSOB and ODUA take note.

Pls take the Bolded off your list . . . . . . . .They have remained non-violent

Moreover,

Am beginning to support retailation when attacked like it happened in Egypt. . . . . . . . .The supporters of Mubarak will never forget the beating they got from the ''peaceful potesters'' when they thought they have monopoly to violence. . . . . . . . . . . . .

I dont see how Nigeria needs this kind of revolution, infact, sitting as president for 20yrs is impossible in a country like Nigeria. So why are people screaming Nigeria all over the thread? What Nigeria needs now are serious political institutions that ensure people do not go scot free when they breal the laws. We need some serious political awareness and awakening. People here express aparthy when it comes to their right and political leadership, we dont ve serious oppositions, there is hardly any difference btw PDP and ACN and that is why PDP will always thump the other parties in the head when it comes to elections. Apart from a few persons in the oppositions who ve shown good leadership qualities the rest are of thesame breed, no wonder GEJ called them rascals because in comparison to his party, oppositions are nothing different. Good news for Egypt but not yet time to celebrate anything, let us still watch what happens after now. We ve seen near situations like this where people yearned for a changed only to be plagued by the change. Let us hope this wind of change sweeps across black african countries like Gabon,Zimbabwe and co. As for Naija, this is not the type of revolution we need now, there is no need to kill yourself over nothing abeg.

You must be flirting with Utopia; when a nation is moved into action by the conviction of many rather than the unneeded sacrifice of a few (Tai Solarin e.g)   Something unifying that cut's across ethnic, religious and political lines (Like IBB and Abacha dictatorship uprising) must happen. Right now, Crooked politicians play on our collective ethnic and religious-driven sentiments to sell Democracy as a situation where the voice of the citizens are heard through incompetent members of the polity. any diversion from the "norm" will be violently dealt with or simply ignored or discountenanced.

The Youths; the future of of this nation are gradually fading into anonymity while the Aged and decrepit leadership pay lip-service to Education, Youth Empowerment and Development. It is up to you and I to become Politically Aware and Active at any level we find ourselves. the more youths we get into the political ecosystem, the better for Nigeria. join a party and become relevant. sooner than later, the old dolts will find their grave. The youths must be ready to take the reigns.

But NO Egyptian needed to set his/herself ablaze for Egyptians to take to the streets. I am not certain why we now need to suggest that ONE PERSON needs to make some sacrifice for us to see something similar to what has happened and is happening in Egypt, happen in Nigeria.

dude I think you did not wait to comprehend what I was trying to say before rushing to quote me. The situation in egypt is quite different from Nigeria's. The main objective of the 18-day protest was to forcefully unseat Mubarak who has been president since 1984 and that has been achieved. In the case of Nigeria, we are in an election year, whoever has any grieviances can do that at the polls, so what is the need for such here? Besides our problem is not long siting presidents but institutional and political failure at every realm of our polity. Nigeria does not need the Tunisian or egyptian type of revolution cos that will just lead to unneccessary bloodbath and confusion, the last time some officers thought otherwise, the civil war was the outcome. Lets argue situations in perspectives and leave sentiments aside.
