Most of the commentators here are daft how can someone with his right sense said the ilegal and new fake speaker are right? How can you swearing in a house members in a beer parlour? It is only when the member elect takes oath of office that he assumes membership of the house and a such has a seat which can be declared vacant.

How can they take oat of office without the governor’s proclamation? If they were not properly inaugurated how can they claim to be members of Edo state House of Assembly?

While I avoid anything that has to do with Edo politics because it is very uncivilized and village square thuggery politics with underdeveloped people as the majority, I cannot avoid reading comments whenever time permits me.

18 seats declared vacant by 6 members or by the Law? The members that were refused Inauguration by the governor since last year were elected by their constituencies and there are processes of declaring a seat vacant at the Parliament. Also, when a seat has been declared vacant having met constitutional processes there is a stipulated time for an election to be conducted to fill such vacant seats. This is not possible here as no seat was vacant but a village system with hooligans running government in a mostly impoverished people environment.

The House of Reps ought to have taken over the State Legislative duties. In the absence of House of Reps taken over the Legislative duties because of anticipated corrupt judicial system, the majority of 18 members which is technically 75% of the total member can perform the legislative duties of the 7th Assembly.

Baba,school those PDP Igbos, Obaseki addressed the state on the legislature issue that happened yesterday but he failed to say the crimes of those 14 lawmakers he refused to inaugurate since last year. If the governor feels that 18 members out of 24 cannot elect a speaker of their choice, he should approach the court to rule on the legality or otherwise of the election and stop causing confusion all over the state. Removing the roof of the assembly and littering the assembly gate with sand won’t change anything.

In a Ward, there is no active Youth Wing, no dynamic and active young men, one old man will just wake up and unilaterally take a decision on behalf of the entire ward. That cannot happen in the presence of active Youth Wing of the Party.
