Living faith church popularly known as winners chapel, general overseer Bishop David Oyedepo, has said those criticising him are just wasting their time over his commitment to the Federal Government on Sunday.

Oyedepo said his church has opened about 520 new parishes on Sunday, August 16, 2020.

The Clergyman has been under enormous criticism over his commitment on Sunday, warning the Federal Government to expung the part of the newly-sign amended Companies and Allied Matter Act, 2020, that will enable the supervising minister to remove the board of trustees of churches without recourse to the court.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari, had on August 7 signed into law, the Companies and Allied Matters Bill, 2020. The bill which has been passed by the National Assembly replaced the 1990 CAMA.

Amongst those who reacted to Oyedeopo's comment was the President’s aide on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, who tweeted on Monday, “I hope this is not true. If it is, Oyedepo will have to manufacture his own country and live by his own laws. As long as he lives and operates within the entity called Nigeria, he will live by Nigerian rules and laws. He will do as he’s told by the law. Enough of lawlessness.”

But Oyedepo in church live broadcast sermon Titled 'Breaking limits', on Tuseday monrnig, through the church's social media platforms, said, “If I ever preached a message where there is no laughter, don’t listen to it. I have been laughing like this 76 till forever since I found Matthew 6:33. I have been laughing at the devil and smiling as I serve. You insult me, I enjoy it. You insult me and I stop going to work because you insult, I will be a big fool. I am going to work.


“They said, see his legs. Yes, I thank God for my legs. See his nose, yes, He made it and He did it beautifully. See how short he is, that’s the size He made me for so I can save more clothes.

"You know, He that sits in heaven shall laugh. If you are not laughing, you are not seated in heaven. And we are seated in heavenly places, so what should we be doing? Laugh. As they insult you? Laugh. As they mock you? Laugh. As they abuse you? Laugh.

"Anybody insulting me is wasting his time. One, I didn’t hear. Two, even if I heard, it won’t pain me. Anybody praising me is expressing his opinion. One, I didn’t hear. And even if I heard, it won’t blow my head because if you praise anything in me, it is Jesus.”

“Nobody has the power to determine how many people worship Jesus. No force on earth has the power. When I’m lifted up, I will draw all men to myself. So, get all the facilities ready. The devil is tired. You ask him and he will tell you. I am tired because there are churches today that are just pushing the frontiers of the gospel in spite of the devil.

“As at last night, we got the report of 520 of our new churches planted. The Lord shall send the rod out of Zion, rule thou in the midst of thou enemies. It’s a divine agenda. No policy under heaven can stop it. 520 churches planted on the 16th of August. If I were the devil, I will start mourning now. Shame on the devil.”

How many many Christians who were once Muslims or atheists or African traditional worshippers in Canaan land, ota,Ogun state have ever come out to give testimonies that they were once practicing so so religion but now, they are Christians?

All the testimonies at Canaan land and all the churches in nigeria are :-
I was once poor but God gave me financial break through as if non Christians do not have financial break through too
I was barren for six months but God gave me twins as if non Christians do not have this same testimony too
I was looking for a visa to travel abroad, but God gave me visa as if non Christians do not have visa too

Is that the purpose of Christianity?

until one have contact with the church he will not know about testimonies concerning soul winning which should be the number 1 priority of Christians, yet without having contact with the church everyone knows all the testimonies involving financial break throughs of members broadcasted by the church?
Could this not be a strategy to attract more people from other churches to winners chapel all to make more money from tithes and offerings?

This is how it works:
If the church today had steaked to their primary calling of winning the souls of Muslims and other non Christians into God's kingdom, teach believers how to live like Christ,free as many that understand how to live rightly in order to discongest the church population and broadcast the goodnews of the number of Muslims and non Christians who have accepted Christ for everyone to hear in stead of broadcasting testimonies of breakthrough that anyone can achieve just to attract Christians of other sects, the church wouldn't have accumulated so much wealth for themselves, there will be no need for the government to now come in to interfer on the church finances since there are no accumulation of wealth and nobody will criticize the church for anything.

Now, that the church have accumulated this wealth and the government is coming in, then they don't have any say because they called for it in the first place.
