Ontario invited nurses, investment managers, and accountants in the pool to apply for a provincial nomination on June 23, 2021. Candidates with CRS scores of between 464 & 467 were invited. I'm guessing it's cos the last general draw was 468.

https://www.cicnews.com/2021/06/ontario-pnp-invites-express-entry-candidates-in-10-priority-occupations-0618449.html#gs.4rbmk4

You have two options:
a) Pray that they resume the general draw. 490 is a good score.

b) Look for ways to reduce your CRS score ( e g.
intentionally flop IELTS) so its falls between 464 and 467. That way when Ontario draws again and your NOC is in demand, you will be invited.

But then, you don't know when the next general draw will hold. With the recent distribution of CRS scores in the pool, it's possible that the next general draw will be above 480.

If you reduce your score to 467 and we have a general draw, you won't be invited. You will then have to increase your score back to 490 and pray that the general draw is not one-off, like what happened in December 2020.

If it's a one-off general draw, you might be tempted to reduce your CRS score again to fall below 480 (assuming the cutoff in the general draw is 480), so that Ontario can invite you in their next PNP draw.

And now you're caught in a vicious circle.

Just chill

Thanks alot

E2 language. Watched a lot of their top viewed videos on YouTube. Also signed up for daily online tutorials on their website and learnt a lot. Then i practiced a lot. Especially writing cos i had 6.5 twice previously. I also submitted my writing for evaluation by ielts trainers on e2language. Then i scheduled a writing tutorial with one of their best teachers, Dr Anna. Writing was d problem for me.
Speaking is about confidence and knowing a little about the popular ielts topics. I got many knowledge ideas from the E2 classes.

FYI, i spent some money for this 1 on1 tutorial, But it was worth it in the end. Good luck
Right on point for Speaking. Confidence is key, not cramming. From experience, Confidence allows you to vary your tenses and vocabularies and also makes you speak more natural. He who sees your results, go think say, you are lucky to get am, them no know say, you work for am. Congrats baba.

Nobody knows what IRCC is thinking but its safe to say that the first few FSW draws will see a very high score but will eventually settle around 470 before the year runs out . For those in the 460s they should consider applying to PNPs as a backup
Correct though. The best is to max out, not just to rush into the pool

Yep and I also like to add that people should plan every bit of their migration. I know people tend to believe being able to survive in Nigeria means being able to survive anywhere but planning is very necessary as the support system for new immigrants in the western world is kind of weak. Every man for himself . The Asians are a lot better in this regard but planning is good.

True brother, Chinese and Indians are better in that regard. He remain our UARian brothers.

Well I cant speak for Canada as I've never lived there but in the places I've lived these agencies exist as advisory bodies. They wont solve the problems most immigrants have. A chinese can house a fellow chinese for 8 months till he's able to get on his feet. Same with the indians. There are big businesses run by indians/chinese and they tend to employ each other. Nigerians tend to compete with one another. They also tend to be suspicious of each other. On another note Nigerians in the west are economically weak compared to the asians. All these factors make it difficult for those willing to extend their support to be able to do so.

Bro consider other ways of getting the needed points. When I was filling my EE profile/submitting my application I submitted the list of my relatives (parents and siblings) along with their date of birth. In the future If anyone claims to be my relative they'd verify from my submission. Also look at the bigger picture, if their are many cases of relative fraud from Nigeria many genuine applicants may be affected

My own score is even 67, but I wouldn't blench at that thought of begging someone who is not a relation to stand in for me as a relation. That's simply unethical and if the lid is blown at anytime, could sabotage the entire effort, not just for the applicant but potentially also for other applicants from the country! However I have a cousin there whom I contacted, but he gave very flimsy excuse and I let him be. I understand Nigerians don't believe in standing in for their own relation especially as we regard success as competition and unhealthy rivalry. I just let his cold refusal slide. I'm learning French now. What will be will be!

Pls, the names on my ECA starts with my surname, first name, then middle name(was how it was arranged on my transcript). But my passport and certificate starts with first name, middle name then surname. If I create an EE profile with that, will there be any problems?
Create your EE with that that of passport and your IELTS results

canada has asked us to come with funds for a reason. So you are saying anything new. Nigerians are already supporting each other in Canada in many WhatsApp groups. Job referrals, housing, child benefits/tax refunds/gst/hst tip, driving test, career webinars etc. Dont come to Canada with no proof of funds or plans and cry later.

Page 1 is your plug.

Read Skilled Work Experience (in section "ELIGIBILITY" ) for what passes as work experience as per IRCC.
Read Checklist (in section "SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION (eAPR)) for what IRC C requires in a reference letter.
Read Cash Salary Certificate (in section "SAMPLE DOCUMENTS" ) if you were paid in cash and want to provide something to prove it.

According to the checklist, CAC is usually only required for self employed peeps but some applicants have provided it as "jara" where the company that employed them has no online presence. If employer has no online presence and no CAC, this may help: https://www.nairaland.com/6081746/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/547#101396852
Thank you so much!

Good day great people,

Please I have an important question to ask:

Does freelance work experience count? (having it in mind that freelancers monthly earnings vary and are not consistent)

My Work experience has been on Fiverr and Upwork since 2017. So my concern is, since monthly earnings are not consistent, would it count as a work experience?

Has anyone been successful with a freelancer work experience before?

Please advise.
Thanks!

Cool. Work on your profile within the law and try not solicit assistance if you can. I mentioned to my high school friend that I applied for a PR and if it comes through I’ll land for three weeks to do some networking and return to naija to build on the network. Somehow he felt I was planning to stay in his house for that three weeks and didn’t respond to my message. He shared that thought with someone. And I told that person to remind him that in Johannesburg I lived at a service apartment (sandton Skye ) when his sister visited . In New York I lived at a concierge apartment in Manhattan . In Scotland as a student I lived at a 2-bed apartment when he came to spend a week with me .How does he now think I won’t be able to accommodate myself for three weeks in CA. It’s just funny how some of our people reason once they land in CA but that’s the reality so prepare yourself.
One of the recent migrants who left Nigeria in 2020 told me he won’t be able to attend his sister’s wedding in October due to the security situation in Nigeria. I told him if raising ticket money was a problem he should say so and not make those in Nigeria feel like they are in war front lol (was joking with him but ). Learn the french and do your thing. Don’t rely on men

Do you have work experience in Canada? If no, choose no. Then fill your box details. I believe you already have a degree plus Ielts

As soon as you have the baby Intl passport and pof .

You can send a message via webform for them to send you the documents to fill so you can add the new born .

It was when I got my baby's intl passport when she was about a month old (covid period ) that I notified them . There is no exact timeline but the faster you do everything, the better for you .

You do upfront medicals for baby, passport photo, intl passport and updated pof.

There are some documents to fill as well.
