Never ask a man to marry you.

You may think that you are honest and outspoken about your feelings but many men will not see it that way.

Being the first to make the move to ask for marriage makes him see you as an insecure person. If he wants to marry you, he will ask.

If he doesn't want to ask or he is taking too long to ask and you think that time is not on your side, stop seeing him for a while or let him see much less of you. If he truly cares and sees the difference, he will take steps to make a binding commitment.

If he fails to notice any difference and goes on without taking any steps towards marriage or engagement, you may have to pack him to one side and move on because he may be a time waster.

However, be reasonable regarding the timing you expect him to ask for marriage. Many men will not ask for marriage in less than 12 months of dating. Very few men will ask for marriage in less than 6 months of dating.

I can agree on the fact that marriage proposal should be left for the man (after of course, knowing his view on marriage for the relationship pre-dating),but I am against you completely in saying ladies shouldn't make first move on a man. No no no, very against.

There is no generally accepted formula for that. One may lose a potential husband by following your advice above. There is no crime in a lady trying to know the nature and future of her relationship with a guy.
