I believed you set the stage for everyone to prove the potency of their God that's why i quickly brought in Atheists and Agnostics so that they're not left out of this wonderful opportunity to express themselves freely though i'm already aware of their state of mind that they can only lay complaints here and there but they can't find any solution in the absence of a Supreme Being (GOD) whose standard must be adhere to strictly if there's going to be any solution at all!

Without a thorough meditation on all these you can never understand or know how to apply that event to correct anything. First of all you need to visualize yourself as part of the story, see yourself as an Israelite in Elijah's day, then think of where you would have loved to be, is it in the midst of the spectators? Would you like to be King Ahab? One of his Chiefs, a Commander in his army? One of his princes? Would you like to be Elijah? What about the remaining 7,000 loyal worshipers of the God of Elijah hiding?
I know you won't like to be one of those false prophets that were slain that day!
So see yourself as part of the event as in a contemporary of Elijah, that's when you can fully grasp what happened that faithful day!

But be rest assured that Elijah's God has proved himself before that spectacular event, what happened that day was a direct Judgment on all those false prophets of Baal!

[2]The next test is PRACTICAL APPLICATION of the THEORY you're carrying in your head. There must be one thing or another that you're to do in line with that THEORY. This is what you hold so dear and compel anyone close to you, be it your own children, families, friends, colleagues and neighbours, it's not compulsory but at least it will help you to cohabit peacefully with others. The irony of this is 75% of people miss out completely on this, their THEORY is not practicable in any way so they have nothing to PREACH or TEACH anybody. That's why Atheists and Agnostics will only complain about what others are teaching, they don't have what it takes to carry others along!

[3]The last test is the BENEFIT that results from the PRACTICAL APPLICATION of the THEORY.
This is where all other school of thought failed woefully, leaving just one group standing!
All their theories and practical applications can't unite them with their fellow adherents in other lands, so whenever there arises any strife caused by jealousy or envy it will surely lead to the death of their cherished THEORIES and the next thing you'll see is killing themselves like animals!
Politics and Racism are the two major time bomb that render all their THEORIES futile!

There was a valid reason for Elijah to prove that his God is the real God back then. All other Gods were silenced that day.
But note that all Israelites, King Ahab and the 450 Prophets of Baal agreed with the logical test Elijah presented before the whole assembly that day. This God is the one who led their ancestors out of Egypt with a mighty hand without an military force. So Elijah wanted the prophets of Baal to prove that it's that same God!

Today the whole world is in chaos despite the fact that billions are claiming to be worshiper of the God of Elijah.

So do you agree that all these different sects with contradicting teachings and conflicting doctrines yet claiming Christians and Muslims are of that same God?

Well that's exactly what Jesus of Nazareth thought when he walked the earth!
He never forced anyone to obey God's laws, it's the biased religionsists of his time who kept agitating that this young man has refused to approve them as worshipers of his own God, it's was obvious that Jesus' God is the one and only TRUE God but this young man was teaching what those religionsists finds very difficult to accept due to their pride. They just want him to approve them before people that their form of worship is OK. Well Jesus didn't agree with them so they concluded he must die!

There is a tin line between principled mindedness and tolerance. That's why most intolerant religionsists today are claiming Christians whereas they're lawless as in having no principles at all, what they'll just say is "accept Jesus as your personal Lord and saviour" but for what purpose? None!
So because they don't have any tangible thing in their skulls to utter in order to convince others about the significance of their God and useless forms of worship, they have chosen the threat style "if you refuse to join us in worshiping our God now, you will be tormented forever and ever after your death"
