Seriously, this man is trying. During my NYSC program, my colleagues went to Abakaliki, from Owerri and saw how beautiful the state is, this man is a low key governor and silent achiever unlike the overhyped governor of Oyo State and Puppet Governor of Lagos |

The airport will never be viable economically. Airports are built with the level of traffic that will pass through it in mind. Because that level of traffic is what will generate the necessary funds that will be used for its maintenance and staff salaries. How many people will fly to Ebonyi state? For what purpose? Enugu airport is fairly busy because it serves Enugu, Ebonyi, and Anambra. Owerri serves Imo, Umuahia. Portharcourt is thriving because of the oil companies there. So pray tell me where is the funds going to come from? Airports are better handled by private people. Reason being that they would only build airports in places where it is viable. The guy is an slowpoke and will use this project to loot billions. Ebonyi people has not industries generating nada. Instead of to concentrate on these and also increase the standard of education and also improve healthcare, he is playing to gallery, building shopping malls in a state that does not produce jack and whose average income is a pittance. Building an airport that should have been handled privately? Ebonyi people will suffer for these crap in years to come cuz these projects will go to waste and be abandoned finally. Let them show me the financial projections on which these projects where based on. Ndi ara. Felixalex: 1 Like |

OVB123:This statement is so shameful coming from you. Nigerians travel abroad and do all manner of chores just to survive, so we should respect those who do same here in Nigeria. There should be dignity in labour. |

Who in the world terms building an airport a "development"? Are u guys insane a what? A project that will impoverish the state for many years to come without commensurate income is touted as "development". Do you think just building an "airport' will suddenly make a dead state developed? Any form of development should do the following things: 1. Increase the GDP of the state. 2. Increase the base income of the citizens. 3. Increase the purchasing power of the citizen. 4. Increase the literacy level of the citizens 5. Increase the health and life expectancy of its citizens. An airport is now built based on the following reasons: 1. The state has created a enough value via a lot of industries and there is increased traffic to come and access that value of to add more value. 2. High purchasing power of the citizens means that a lot of them can afford to fly. However the population of the people in this space has to be in millions for building an airport just for this sole purpose to make sens. 3. These airports or maybe landing strips will be built by organized private sector. They would have seen the value of doing and and done with sound financial projections. Government will only regulate and levy the necessary tax. EMMY76: |

Why do you have to end your postulations with "mad people"? I am from Ebonyi and the project is in my LGA. Before now, I do not fancy the project because i believe other things count for development more than this. But i have been made aware of the viability of the project by people in the know and it looks good. Many people are just waiting for this project to kick off georgeiyke009: |

Its not. Even lagos highly populated with all the business, ports, and more wealth than any other state cannot on its own have a viable airport. It is an international airport so everyone in Nigeria uses it some extent and that is the reason for its profitability. Ebonyi state has no business building an airport with tax payers money. In fact no sane government in this century builds an airport with tax payers money. Its a business and better left to business men to run. This is just a front to siphon billions. the only reason stupid Nigerian banks will lend money is that they will deduct their repayments at source. which giving the dwindling revenue of the FG, Ebonyi will be in a position of sub-zero allocation as their allocation will not be enough to service those loans. They will be smart not to use the airport as a collateral as they know its a white elephant project that will neither generate money or easily sellable. it will be worth shit to creditors. bong4: |

Montaque: Ignore that embittered fool with his negativity! He should face his own state and region with his negative and pessimistic attitude as they need him more! Ebonyi is building for the future and a airport (whether int'l or local) is welcome and will serve as a catalyst for development! Whoever isn't comfortable with this fact can go hang! Imagine writing epistle upon epistle over a project that has already started in earnest, just to try and rubbish it! These annoying idiots saying Ebonyi doesn't need a airport are just jealous bastards who secretly aren't happy another Igbo state is opening up to national and int'l trade, commerce, industry and tourism! They want 'one Nigeria' to revolve around just them, and the federally built and sustained cities in their regions that have int'l airports! Restructure the bloody country or break it up let everyone answer their papa name, only then we will know which city or region can genuinely sustain a viable airport and which can't! 2 Likes |

He would have pointed out his arguments in a civil manner and facts rather than pour invectives on people who are trying to make an honest living and do not even know their state is engaged in an airport project. |

OVB123:I dont need a prophet to tell me that you are either a thief or your father is a thief, bcuz sense of deep reasoning is always far from ppl trained with stolen money like you, if not so you would have known that bcus few are hawking on the street though kudos to them for their courage to hawk rather than been an armed rubber like you, your father & your ppl, that there are also majority others from the state(ebonyi) that are earning good money through other solid legitimate business, and this majority group can afford to use the airport comfortably, but bcus you are a thief you decided to focus on the hawking few, what else can one expect? can anything good come from a child of a harlot like you?
