Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has advised young men against bending the knee to propose to women.

He described this act as an insult to manhood .



The veteran actor said any man who gets down on the knees to propose to a girl is not just an idiot but a bloody fool.

In what seemed like a piece of relationship advice to young men, Pete Edochie said an African man shouldn’t emulate this western practice and methods of life.

He explained  that, it's the whiteman's culture and traditions to submit to a woman through the means of kneeling down especially when they wants to propose marriage to them.

It's not in our culture , but internet and exposure brought western culture to us

Africa runs a patriarchal society, Men are completely responsible for providing for women, they work for the family , feed them, cloth them and keep them away from dangers, and in returns women take care of his food, take care of family, and show respect for his sacrifice through kneeling and other curtsy, so it is weird for an African man to kneel down for a lady
