joyandfaith: This is the kind of stuffs we should be engaging in now. Ways to improve the whole security architecture. While I agree with your take on efcc being closer to the lg, I think SARS still need to be close to the society too. Coz it'll take no time for robbers to start terrorizing again. One million boys is a testament to the fact that hoodlums would take the slightest chance to strike. If SARS personnels and Senior police officers are made more accountable, this menace would stop. Jail term, capital punishment and dismissal for senior officers who fail to monitor their squads would be a good way to start. |

As expected, I'm from edo state and the rate at which cyber crime is been done in my state is alarmingly high. All the boys and girls have all gone into Yahoo businesses especially Upper and Ugbowo people in Benin, no one wants to learn a skill nor go to school gain. they've all resolved to joining the cyber crime business. Here’s the thing bro: I’m not benefiting from cybercrime or supporting fraud but the SARS programme needs to be ended. “If it’s working, you don’t have to fix it.” It’s not working, let’s end it and start something fresh. Put those guys in the street, let them hustle like everyone else and understand what it takes to earn living legitimately. They’re too lowly to be reformed. Let’s introduce some freshness into the system. People like Frank Mba are product of systems where things are working. He’s not a typical naija police. You can see the difference. Just find out more about him and his reign as Area Commander, Festac/Amuwo Odofin, Lagos. Even all the people working with him are decent! He sure knew what to do if only he’s allowed. Look at his engagement with Naira Marley. Who would attack such an officer? 3 Likes 1 Share |

All the boys and girls have all gone into Yahoo businesses especially Upper and Ugbowo people in Benin, no one wants to learn a skill nor go to school gain. they've all resolved to joining the cyber crime business. Actually It's not the job of SARS to be arresting Yahoo boys, the agency that has that jurisdiction is EFCC. The major problem is not even SARS taking the jurisdiction of EFCC in this regard, the thing SARS activities is not even curbing the menace!! Rather they collect bribe from these yahoo boys and unfortunately assault those that are not even the yahoo yahoo.. I support the reformation of SARS through a strict law that narrows their activities to only anti-robbery and kidnapping only. 3 Likes |

Is SARS in charge to arrest Yahoo boys? Before the police create SARS department, the work of police is to safe life and property of every citizen. If SARS is banned, we still have police that can protect us. All SARS are exconvit. How do you want them to behave in the society? Don't get it twisted. The Special Anti Robbery Squad was set up to deal with armed robbers. What is their business with Yahoo boys? The EFCC is there and the ICPC is there. We even have Special Anti Fraud Unit in the Nigerian Police Force. These criminals, deviants and miscreants don't even know why the squad was established. They have become worse than the armed robbers. 2 Likes |
