@classichique, congrats. Thank God the CO didn't notice the 20k balance. I've some questions though. Does your husband have a valid US visa? what is your travel history like? Have you been to the US before now? If no, have you been to other countries? Where? |

nadee: Hello all, Hi, I know how difficult it is to get a VBAC Dr. I used Dr Downey of Richardson Obgyn (Based in Dallas TX ). He has admitting privileges with Methodist Richardson. His fees are 3,2k, Methodist hosp fees are 3,5k. Total is 6,7k. Additional expenses like Paed fees, tests, etc, cost abt 1k. No additional charges, in all we spent 7,7k. He'll do everyth he can 2 ensure u have a VBAC experience. Google RichardsonObygyn and give thm a call. Website enquiries dont work. |

classichique: Hello House, kudos 4d enlighteningment on dis topic. I have been studying this thread since I decided 2have my baby in america and I have a testimony 2share :-) Happy you got the visa, printing a statement of account for the embassy is not about having a huge sum of money in it, you can be refused visa even if you have 100 million . I can guaranty you, the officer saw you balance of N20k. It's the inflow and outflow of cash they are interested in, that is why they usually ask for six month statement in order to determine if you have a steady flow income in the last six months. All the best to you,and I hope all your funds will be in order when you are traveling? 1 Like |

classichique: Hello House, kudos 4d enlighteningment on dis topic. I have been studying this thread since I decided 2have my baby in america and I have a testimony 2share :-) @ classichique, Congrats.....really happy for you. Dear All, I have been a silent listener and have been observing this trend for a long time. I must sincerely mention that this trend has been the best i have visited on Nairaland. Thanks to all that have contributed to the success of this trend......and congrats to all that have been successful and praying that we shall all have good news to tell. I am currently about 30 weeks with the intention of delivery my baby in the US, I am yet to decide where to deliver cos i have relatives scattered all over. I and my son already had our visas since december last year but couldn't travel with my husband in June because my son was strong then. This is my first time travelling to the US and am a bit scared. My husband has agreed to travel with me in November when i want to travel but i just keep getting worried about the immigration and CBP officers. My husband thinks we should send a mail to the embassy telling them of our intent to deliver in the US (Since i has the visa when i wasn't pregnant). He feels this will be an evidence we can show at the POE and wont have any issue but am afraid incase if their response is negative. I am a bit confused right now and I really will appreciate your advice........ Good night |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Babababy(m): 11:31pm On Oct 24, 2013 |
Harjeehbaday: Hmm,curious case this one. In my understanding about how it works, their is almost nothing the embassy can do for you now. You have been issued a visa ,and that's about how far they can go. They purpose of the issued visa still remains valid, and unless your current status expires, they can't amend anything on the visa. You best option might be ,to make sure you have everything in order. Get a hospital in place, do you registration and get an appointment. Travel with lots of cash,if you can so that you have to declare it, and they know you have cash. It's a good thing you going with your husband, let him do all the talking and don't lie about your intentions. It's not illegal to seek medical attention as long as you have the right visa. And since you were not pregnant when the visa was issued, you don't stand any risk of being turned back because you lied at the embassy. So your task will be to convince the CBP officer that you are more than capable of paying all bills, goodluck |

Harjeehbaday: If you write to the embassy no one will respond to you. You can try but its futile So go early and disguise if you can..redo your make up before you head to customs, walk smartly, wear loose clothing and carry a big bag to cover your side....if you can go with your husband...better so he answers the questions while somewhat shielding you. from what iv read dont declare more than 10k so they dont stop you aside for unnecessary questioning or draw undue attention to yourself And have a plan b: which is communication and acceptance from a dr just incase your disguise fails and you are asked so you dont lie. Also have enough money for this plan b (less than 10k and a credit or debit card for the balance) |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by kenkelewu: 12:53pm On Oct 26, 2013 |
Harjeehbaday: I think Babababy said it all. U cant be turned back for wilful misrepresentation of a material fact, or fraudulently obtaining visa. However, it's better to be truthful if you are asked about your intention, so you don't deprive yourself of further renewals. In addition, I don't think you should disguise and at the same tme, dont flaunt your pregnancy. Do your homework and be prepared to prove you can pay your bills: enough cash and debit/credit card and also that you won't overstay your visa. The most important question is : "what is the purpose of your trip?". Your response will make or mar your intention. If your husband is going with you, the better for you cos it creates some kind of shield. In my humble opinion and based on personal experience, avoid HOUSTON at all costs. All the best |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by uchetobi(f): 1:11pm On Oct 26, 2013 |
kenkelewu: They will always ask you why you are here! Its standard! But if they dont ask you 'maam are you pregnant' or 'are you here to have a baby'. I dont know if its necessary to declare yourself cuz it can go any way. If they ask of course dont lie but if the dont #kanyeshrug I know someone that got her visa 11 months before she got pregnant...she was turned back at atlanta and she had 15k dolls on her and her dr's appointment and acceptance letter She matched straight to customs and said she is here to have her baby...they sent her back on the evening flight. Personally i feel as long as you pay your bills renewal is not a problem esp with this new dropbox system so renewal should be secondary to your momentarily plans Anyways pray and follow your heart. Goodluck |

Good day guys... just got into houston. mehn, it was hectic. Came in with my husband. He was stamped in without stress. For me, they took me into a room for questioning o. As I told the guy I was pregnant. It was a terrifying one, esp as I saw a pregnant nigerian woman they were sending back. After waiting for a while, I was asked my intentions again. And was advised to stay away from any form of Govt funding and to keep all my receipts. With wat I experienced today, I don't think going wit ur husband changes anytin o. Cos the nigerian lady was there wit her husband too. He was stamped in but was told the they wld be deporting his wife back. Good luck to all the peeps traveln soon....cheers 1 Like |

Good day to all in d house, I. Need assitance on the following poins. After following dis trend for a week now and ve done all that has been said or discussed here I have finally choosen this trend as my only guide to dis life tym venture. I need to know which website to get the visa application form to fill for the application. I need to know which is the suitable form to fill as I will be filling for my wife that will be travelling 1st noting the period that the hospital said she can come in and I will be meeting her during the very week she will be delivering. Lastly I will say am impressed with the ELPASO area response so I will need any1 dat has gone to dat side to help out on d issue of movement from Nigeria to Texas which airport is the best aside Hoston that is. Now noted. For issue. Thank you all |

kenkelewu: @Kenkelewu....Could you please give more details on your 'houston experience' at the POE? This will go a long way in helping undecided peeps in making a decision. As the Nos.1 entry point for peeps going to Elpaso is Houston....and it is noted for having cheaper hospitals compared to other cities. 1 Like |
